I had dinner at La Nuova Riva in Uithoorn, and I have to say, it’s an absolute gem of an Italian restaurant. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by a friendly, attentive, and genuine team. You can instantly tell that you’re in the hands of true lovers of Italian cuisine.

What impressed me the most was the freshness of the ingredients. Everything is homemade, and you can really taste the difference. The chef offered us a delicious selection of antipasti – the burrata was incredibly creamy and full of flavor. I then had the chef’s risotto, which was simply outstanding: perfectly cooked and richly prepared.

The service was impeccable – the staff was attentive, thoughtful, and never intrusive. There’s a real sense of generosity in the way they take care of their guests, which is something you don’t come across often these days.

My boyfriend and I were at this restaurant for the second time and I was holding off on my opinion to see if it was worth it. The food has a fantastic Italian feel. It is clear that the hosts put the quality of the dishes first. Great waiters constantly make sure that guests lack nothing. The oldest of the waiters stole my heart today, he took care of every detail and was constantly improving something. If you read this, know that you are as wonderful as your dishes. Een mooie plek met aan de buitenkant een Griekse uitstraling: veel wit en blauw. Gelegen op een plein die Willem-Alexanderpoort genoemd wordt. Een soort van overdwarse pijpenla met een 12-tal tafels. De kaart vermeldt Italiaanse klassiekers als bruschetta, burrata, verdura griglia en vitello tonnato. De hoofdgerechten zijn klassiek en er zijn pizzas.

De brusschetta was smaakvol en knapperig. Prima begin. Een goede rosé van Bardolino als begeleider. Lekker. Uit de 10 pizzas kozen we de carbonara en de monte e mare. Het ristorante zat op deze zonnige Hemelvaartsdag ramvol. En gelukkig duurde de bereiding van de pizzas even zodat we tijd hadden de gedeelde bruschetta te verwerken. Beide pizzas waren werkelijk uitstekend. We sloten af met een doppio. Ik weet niet of het altijd zo druk bezet is, maar de akoestiek was net zo druk. De beide Italiaanse gastheren droegen er hun steentje aan bij anders kwamen ze er geluidstechnisch niet overheen. De muren zijn kaal en ertegenover staan glazen wanden, er is geen muziek want dat zou geen zin hebben. Ik ben geen specialist, maar naar die akoestiek zou toch eens gekeken moeten worden.
