A Wonderful Indian Culinary Experience!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Roti & Chai in Utrecht, and I must say, it was an outstanding experience. As a fan of Indian cuisine, I was eager to try their offerings since i was missing Indian food, and I was not disappointed.
I started my meal with a classic favorite, Saag Paneer, and paired it with Garlic Naan. The Saag Paneer was a true delight! It was perfectly seasoned, not overly greasy, and had that wonderful, authentic taste that I've come to cherish in Indian cuisine. The best part? No artificial food colors! It felt like a healthier, more wholesome choice, and it sat lightly on my stomach.
The Garlic Naan was equally impressive. It was soft, fluffy, and had just the right amount of garlic flavor. Pairing it with the Saag Paneer was a match made in food heaven.
The ambiance at Roti & Chai was lovely, and the host Ms. Ruby was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall positive experience.
I also appreciated the option to capture my delightful meal with some mouthwatering photos, which I've shared here. It's clear that Roti & Chai takes pride in serving high-quality, authentic Indian cuisine, with loads of love and care.
If you're in Utrecht and craving vegetarian Indian food that's delicious, wholesome, and prepared with care, Roti & Chai is the place to be. I can confidently say it's the best vegetarian Indian food I've had (they do serve non-veg food too 😃). Highly recommended!
Thank you, Roti & Chai, for a memorable dining experience. I'll definitely be back...
Read moreHad passed by this place a bunch of times and decided to go in today. Staff was very nice. A bit odd with how you order (up at the counter) but the staff let me know that the dining room was still being setup which then made sense. Chef had a shaved head so no worry about hair in food like a different review had said. Ordered the samosa appetizer and chicken vindaloo and garlic naan main. App came out in roughly 8-10 minutes. Main came out in around 20 minutes, with several food delivery service people picking up orders. Samosa was very enjoyable! Came with two sauces and was dusted with salt/pepper. The vindaloo came with rice. Was the perfect level of spicy for those who like spicy food! Was not rushed or bothered the whole time I was there. Very enjoyable experience and my Dutch is pretty bad and they were able to take my order in English. Will have to take the girlfriend there once the dining room...
Read morePani puri comes straight from a package. You can see the factory manufacturing lines where 2 mechanically made halves are put together. Try to see it before you order to check if it's authentic. Tastes like cardboard. Chai is very small and quite expensive for that size. Also illegally reselling drinks that are not meant for resale. Also prices change randomly, depending on staff's mood or new excuses they found to charge extra. So also be aware of swindling. Some meals are ok-ish in taste if you're lucky when it's entirely made by themselves instead of prefab/factory stuff. Which unfortunately is in every meal at least a small part of it. It's safer to order online and pick up, cause prices will be fixed and you'll have no extra surprises or hassle at the counter. Or just buy thesame prefab stuff from a store and heat it up yourself = cheaper...
