Smokey Blinders — Restaurant in Veldhoven

We had heard about this spot from so many people, and after checking the impressive Google reviews, our expectations were high. When we arrived, the first thing that stood out was the staff taking the orders, friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful. Credit where it’s due, the service side was excellent.

Unfortunately, the food itself did not live up to the hype. We tried both the brisket and the Angus burger, but neither offered anything memorable. The brisket was just a standard cut without any unique flavor profile or standout preparation. The burger, while decent, was overcooked for our taste and lacked the character you would expect from a place with such strong ratings. In fact, there are plenty of spots in town serving better, juicier burgers with more distinct seasoning.

The fries were not fresh, though the Cajun spice added a nice touch flavor-wise.

My impression is that the high ratings may be influenced more by their strong delivery service and convenience for the neighborhood rather than the quality of the food itself. If you are someone who enjoys this burger, I would encourage you to explore a few other dedicated burger spots, it might broaden your view on what a truly standout...

I think they need to work on the take-away service. It just seems that they have a different chef for take aways and a different one for in-house orders. I took an order of fries, wings and ribs as a take away and the fries were just stale. The ribs were dry and dominos makes better chicken wings than the ones i got, yeah dominos. However, while I was waiting for the take away, I noticed food coming out of the kitchen and it looked and seemed every bit fresh & tasty as described in the other reviews. However, the food I received looked & tasted like it was from yesterday. It was a difference of day and night. I would still like to try their on site food and maybe that will change my mind. Very good burger place in Veldhoven! With my family, it was an unexpected visit -- but it was a nice surprise to us. In the beginning we saw only two tables are occupied so we were a bit unsure if this is the right choice. However, when we check the menu and saw the food served, we were very happy that we made the decision :) The portion of the food is good and delicious, brisket is highly recommended.
