Arcener Bakhuys — Restaurant in Venlo

Unfortunately I can only give one star, although the food looked delicious, we wasn’t able to try it.

We went in and sat down and waited. And waited. And waited. I eventually went to the counter and asked if I needed to order there or of it was table service, to be assured that it was table service.

I could see that it was busy so we didn’t mind waiting a little while.

Until a table of people that arrived 15 minutes after we did was served within 5 minutes.

I cannot abide rudeness and in my opinion it was the hight of rudeness.

We’ve been to the Netherlands 4 times in 2 years and have waxed lyrical about how wonderful and welcoming we were made to feel. What amazing people the Dutch are and how patient they are with us as we can’t speak Dutch passed a few words and please and thank you.

I have no idea why we were so rudely ignored by the staff, but I’m not going to spend €60 euro on lunch in a place where we are clearly not welcome.

I loved the time here. It was my 2nd visit in Arcen and in this place. Helpful shop assistants and although l don't speak Dutch they were really kind with me every time. The coffee and the pies are really delicious. I bravely recommend this place and l am sure that l will return back one...

Vandaag na een midweek Arcen retour huis. Eerst nog gewandeld in de Maasduinen en daarna wilden we lunchen in Arcen. Voorzieningen genoeg. Aangezien we gisteren bij de het Arcener Bakhuys een heerlijke vlaai gekocht hadden hebben we gebeld of we er ook konden lunchen. Dit kon. Leuk kleine lunchroom, gemoedelijke sfeer en ruime keus. Na een nog al aanhalige wesp, diervriendelijk, naar buiten gewerkt te hebben, genoten van een goede lunch, met koffie en thee en een glaasje jus. Om thuis nog na te kunnen genieten van een heerlijke vlaai een kwart rabarbervlaai meegenomen voor vanavond bij de koffie/thee. het Arcener Bakhuys een aanrader voor een goede kop koffie/thee, maar ook...
