Barbeque Venlo — Restaurant in Venlo

Is this the best place in Venlo? Most likely not. Was this the best place for us to eat at when we visited? Damn yes!

We only visited Venlo for a Saturday afternoon before our flight back to Hungary. As we strolled around the parade, we noticed this little place, a single family and the owner checking out the ongoing World Cup match. It wasn't even open officially. We popped in and the owner/cook was VERY friendly with us and prepared a delicious doner box. Yeah, a doner box is not exactly fine dining, but as far as doner goes, it was goooood.

Then we returned during the evening, escaping a very... interesting restaurant down the street. The owner recognized us with a big smile right away. Again, there wasn't really any other customer there, only us, but we again had some nice meals, carbonara this time. Not the best I ever had, but it was what I expected it to be. Then we just sat there with the owners and assistants, cheering for Argentina on the World Cup.

Ah, good times. Would visit again! Cheers...

Food was ok in term of taste but the amount was a joke. This was called a large portion of ribs that costed like 24€ - don't order this, other places give 5-7 parts of ribs for this money not 2. This portion wouldn't be even offered as normal one that usually contains 3 parts. Another problem is that there are only fries (very plain) as an side dish, boring after few orders.

Edit after response: I don't care what you call this, other places give 2-3x more meat with BETTER quality so give excuses...

Employees doesn’t even know what the food they are selling. If there is are order for 2 people they don’t even understand or know what is included in the set. Even though we called them they didn’t understand what is Greek food, but they are selling this.

Be careful when You ordering to get everything for what You are paying. They are not accepting them mistakes and understanding even what they are selling.
