Café De Klep, Venlo — Restaurant in Venlo

This, in the photos, is what they call a black angus burger, and charge 17 euro for. I was forced to pay for it even after I asked to return it. Not saying it’s good or bad. Just leaving it here for you to judge for a second.

Now to the details:

The owner will say I was rude to his staff - I was, true, cuz they were totally clueless. He will also claim that I ate almost all of it. But as you can see the patty is almost intact after I took a large bite of it.

The staff is clueless: 1. Surprised there is a WiFi password and don’t know it. 2. Had no idea what black angus is when I claimed it is not it. 3. Cannot resolve a dissatisfaction issue. 4. When I sent the dish back I was presented with a full bill. After me insisting not paying for the burger they ran to call “the boss”. My rudeness came after.

Absolutely no intent to negotiate a resolution was presented.

And yes, I stand behind my comparison of this “burger” patty with McDonald’s.

I consider it a privilege not being welcome in this establishment. And you, dear reader should stay away too (unless it’s just a beer...

De Keizerstraat kent een roemrucht verleden, met als start dat het zijn naam dankt aan mr. Napoleon himself. Die vent is ook overal verschenen. In de jaren 1970-'80 was dit het Drugskwartier van Venlo. Nu is het getransformeerd tot een super horeca locatie, met verschillende gelegenheden naast elkaar. Elk met een eigen karakter, maar elk met een top service. Bij ons bezoek zijn we alleen binnen geweest voor het toilet en de kassa. Buiten is er een sfeervolle biertuin, met in de avonduren terrasverwarming. Naast de bierkaart is er ook een menukaart met smakelijke kleine gerechten. Had an awful experience at this place, we took the outside counter table since it was full at the external area. After waiting for almost 30 minutes, nobody came in so that we could order a beer.
