Lotus — Restaurant in Voorne aan Zee

We visited Brielle over the weekend and had dinner at Lotus. The food was ok, but like many others, we had a disappointing experience due to the rude and unprofessional behaviour of some of the staff. As soon as we sat down, my child noticed that a piece of cutlery was missing. We asked one of the waiters about it, and he rudely replied, “We don’t have any more.” We saw several empty tables that were fully set with cutlery, so we asked if he could take one from another table. He curtly responded that if he took it from another table, that table would then be missing a piece. We pointed out that there were over ten unoccupied tables, so it shouldn’t be an issue. When we expressed our dissatisfaction, he said, “If you don’t want to stay, you can leave.” We then spoke to the young owner to ask for an explanation. He simply said, “We’ve been open for over 20 years,” and claimed he didn’t know why his staff would behave that way. When I asked for his feedback on the matter, he remained silent. I wonder how a place with such poor service has managed to stay in business for over two decades. Like many others, this was not a pleasant experience. If you have even basic expectations for customer service, I would not recommend...

The food is great but the servers are constantly coming to your table in ways that they shouldn't. They for example went to my table to move my cutlery and tell me "you're supposed to put it there" and even went as far as to go to my table while i was waiting, the chopsticks out of my hand and show me how to hold it. While it is a nice gesture it was pretty invasive to do that while I'm trying to eat. Some servers are nice but most are annoyed and a little rude. The one who we assume is the manager is always pretty weird and rude. I'd advise getting takeout here so you can properly...

Enkele daagjes terug heb ik hier een portie saté afgehaald. Ik koos voor de klassieke standaard: Saté van varkensvlees in pindasaus, .. ik vind het veelzeggend als 'de basis' al onvoldoende scoort!! Over de pindasaus geen klachten, .. 't was niet bijzonder, niet een rare smaak ouzo, .. maar gewoon 13 in dozijn. Is dus ook een aandachtspunt! (òf mìsschien niet hier??). Was het maar een aandachtspunt.

Dan kom ik nu bij de saté .. Wat een droge rommel !!!

Het was vlees, het was warm. Maar met ergernis eet je het op. Zonde om het weg te gooien, .. heb er Euro 7,50 voor moeten betalen .. Werkelijk vraag ik me af, hòe zoiets tot stand komt ..

Heeft 1 kok zoveel werk, dat 'ie hier niet aan toe komt (of zijn er 2-3 koks), .. met erbij dezelfde vraag!!

Hoe bereid je saté? Aanzetten, op iets te laag vuur, voor veel te lang. Òf doodkoken met magnetron ??

Gortdroog ... echt belachelijk!

Zoals je kunt zien - aan gegeven sterren - zijn de mensen heel vriendelijk, wordt je netjes behandeld. Tijdens het afhalen dacht ik er nog over om hier binnenkort een avondje uit eten te gaan, .. maar dat idee is toch naar de prullenbak gegaan. Misschien hadden de saté's daar ook heen gemoeten ..

Wél heel treurig dit !!!!

En ik kwam erachter: ik ben lang niet de enige met dit soort ervaringen. Lotus: wat aan jullie hier aan doen? -wíllen jullie hier...
