Historical Museum Den Briel — Attraction in Voorne aan Zee

In this 450th anniversary year of the Netherlands gaining independence from Spain, the best place to find out about it is the museum in the heart of the first town to experience that freedom.

Located in the back to back buildings that were formerly the town hall and the town prison, the museum utilises each floor to take a visitor through the history and the role played by notable locals.

Veel leuke info, veel interactieve knopjes die je kon indrukken. Alleen deden ze het niet allemaal. Veel portretten van belangrijke personen die uit Brielle komen of een belangrijke rol hebben gespeeld in de 80-jarige oorlog tegen de Spanjaarden. De meeste ruimtes zijn goed verlicht, bij enkele ruimtes kan dat beter. De ruimte van de zeevaarders vond ik heel leuk. Soms is de info heel kort. Had graag meer info over de zeevaarders willen zien en welke locaties ze zijn geweest. De video-quiz beneden in de hoek bij de microscoop is leuk om te doen met je kind. Wij hadden maar ongeveer 1 uur de tijd omdat we nog een andere activiteit op een bepaalde tijd hadden geboekt in Vlaardingen, maar als je rustig alles goed wil bekijken denk ik dat je 2 tot 2,5 uur nodig hebt. Voor gezinnen tot 4 personen kun je een gezins-entreekaartje kopen voor 12,50 euro. Je bent dan goedkoper uit dan voor iedere persoon apart een kaartje te kopen. Los kaartje is voor kinderen 3 euro....
