Alright, let me tell you about my evening at Restaurant Lugar. First of all, when was the last time you walked into a restaurant and instantly felt like they’d been waiting just for you? That’s exactly how the staff made us feel like VIPs, but without all the fuss.

Now, let’s talk food. Ever had a seafood dish that made you wonder, ‘Is it okay to feel this strongly about shrimp?’ Because wow—the seafood here was as fresh as it gets. I mean, the fish probably had a shorter commute to the plate than I did.

And if you’re a wine lover, brace yourself. They bring out a wine list that’s like a little black book of perfect matches. By the end of the night, I think we all found “the one.”

Also, they’ve got all the bases covered with options for vegetarians and gluten-free folks, which is rare enough that I had to ask, ‘Am I in France or Waalre?’ Turns out, both, French-inspired dishes right here in North Brabant.

I joined a organised xmass dinner with my company at Lugar. The evening started with various appetizers of good quality and nice variation. Very friendly staff made it possible to have nice atmosphere and fast service. After we seated the dinner requests were ordered. As we were with a large group (50 people) a fixed menu with fish or meat main course was served. An advantage of having a small menu is the good quality that can be served as routine will help both serving time and attention to detail. All courses were of good quality and variation, drinks were plenty and water on the table was available. My only remark would be to have 'Kraanwater'/ 'tap water' served with a service fee. We went for dinner at Lugar and we ordered a starter and meat as main dish. The starter was a bit scarce compare with the other dishes. The amount of meat was perfect and the quality of the best we have tried in the area. For dessert, we tried two options, the option with the chocolate was nice. The second with the green ice cream was a bit disappointing, while the ice cream was amazing the rest of the elements weren’t of our taste.
