Oh where to begin with this awful and miserable experience at this so called 4.2 star rated restaurant. We already got a bad feeling when the waiter told us that they didn’t have an appropriate high-chair for our toddler. They only had high- chair for infants. What kind of high-chair is specifically only for infants?! They don’t need chairs! Guessing this blond server doesn’t want to go inside and grab the damn chair for us. What a great start. Secondly it took them more than 1,5 hours to have our 2 mains and 1 kids menu ready after we received our appetizer. Apparently they waited for us to finish our appetizer before to put in the order of our main course to the chef. Which restaurant does that? Seems to me they forgot to put in the order. Thirdly, once the main course came to our table, one was missing. Their explanation: One waitress said she send the plate back to the kitchen because it didn’t look nice. But her blonde colleague said he brought it back because he didn’t want it to be warm because we left the table to take care of our toddler in the bathroom. What about the food: you would think that if it takes 2 hours to prepare the food you would have a Michelin star quality food. Don’t expect anything like that. All in all not a nice, friendly and accommodating restaurant. I would suggest to take the ferry and go to Volendam or Hoorn for better...
Read morewe asked in both dutch and english if the "steak sandwich" written in english on the menu it was like a proper grilled steak . The waitress said yes.. Then came slices of raw / rare meat laid on top of bread .Due to a serious life changing surgery to my stomach I couldn't risk a re cooking a cooked steak. They very kindly asked if I would like something else . I asked for a tosti
The bill came and I was charged for both . Then on top of it due to my medical situation I had asked to have none of the expensive sauces icluded with the steak but asked for ketchup instead ... I saw they had charged me 1 euro for ketchup even though they saved on all the sauces .
I was told I had to pay for both as the sandwich cost so much and they had to " throw it away" ... yet I was not told when they asked if I would like a replacement
They claimed it was 20 euro for gluten free bread and justified that extra cost as well for something I didn't eat ... there's no loaf of GF bread that costs 20 euro
They didn't communicate throughout .. even though my friend spoke dutch ... it was very badly handled . Also as my friend pointed out thier fresh orange ... isn't fresh
Overall bad service and...
Read moreMy wife and I visited this area for the first time and wandered into the Land en Zeezicht. We were immediately greeted with friendly faces and great service! While waiting for our order the waitress came by and brought us a small serving of beef with a sweet sauce and pita chip. She said it was complimentary as small gift to us! Everything was absolutely fantastic as far as food quality, but what they did next was the OVER-THE -TOP kicker that has us as raving fans of this restaurant!!!! We asked our waitress if they had any t-shirts of the restaurant (a common advertising practice of restaurants in the states) and she said that she had never heard of such a thing. However, she said she would call the owner of the restaurant AT HOME, ON A WEEKEND, to see if he would sell us on of the staff t-shirts. The owner of the restaurant thought it was such a good idea that he just gave us a brand new staff t-shirt for sharing the idea with him!! Now how cool is that!?!?! GO FOR THE FOOD!!! GO FOR THE ATMOSPHERE!!! AND IN A COUPLE OF MONTHS I'D SAY GO FOR THE...
