Santa Maria — Restaurant in Wijdemeren

If I could give zero stars I would.

First I walked 20 minutes to the restaurant, waited about 10-15 minutes for food and walked another 20 minutes back tot house, which I normally wouldn’t do cause I really like their food!

But I got home and saw it was not the food I ordered and paid for. I decided to go back there and ask for the food I paid for. And they said okay and told me to wait while they prepare my food. Another 10 maybe 15 minutes go by and they bring my correct food(which I then checked) but they didn’t bring my bread rolls with it, again the food which I ORDERED and PAID for. So I go back to the counter and ask (in a very polite way) “hi can I have the rolls that I brought back with it please?” And the guy behind the counter owner I’m guessing, said okay yes. And some customer just tells me that I have to be nicer (in Nederlands) and I’m like excuse me. And he repeats himself again. And I’m like, so you’re saying I can’t have what I paid for. And he says in Nederlands “if you’re in Nederlands , you should speak the Nederlands” and I reply in Afrikaans (which is very very similar to Nederlands) “I understand every word you’re saying and maybe you should try and be bilingual and speak English” and he goes on with saying I don’t understand English so I don’t speak English!

And things kinda escalated from there for about 5 more minutes between me and this customer while the owner or who ever that was just stood there and do nothing. All this for something I ordered and that I paid for.

I am super disappointed that the owner did absolutely nothing. Cause he was as much of a brown person than I am. And this white grown male adult thinks it’s still okay to behave like a fool and a total racist.

It’s 2019, I’m a girl, I’m brown and I’m foreigner. Think I was gonna be quiet. Not in this...

I'm coming here regularly for the most tasteful experience that is second to none. The environment is cosy and warm, everything is top level quality, every order is handled by owner who ensures quality and speed and the staff is very friendly and accommodating.

Vandaag voor de 2de keer besteld maar nu afgehaald. 1ste keer was me kapsalon en spaghetti oke. Maar nu ging ik me eten afhalen en een kleine blik in de keuken kunnen werpen.. 2 mannen werkte op slipper met blote voeten.. de pizza oven werd schoongeveegd met een stok waar een lap om heen zat. Die stok met lap werd boven op de oven gelegd. En geloof me dat was niet fris.. en dat gaat dus de hele avond de oven in om die schoon te vegen. Echt hygiënisch was het zeker niet. Ik had nu een pasta besteld die mijn kids lekker vonden en ik stokbrood met kruiden boter en een kip sate menu. Voor 3 kleine broodjes met kruideboter betaal je 3euro. Me kip lag in een bak sate saus te zwemmen, en de kip smaakte flink verbrand.. wij zullen hier zeker (NIET)...
