De Graanschuur — Restaurant in Wijk bij Duurstede

This restaurant has the best apple tart, nut slices, limoncello cake, and soup of the day! I’m not a lover of sandwiches as many Dutch restaurants offer sandwiches with little portion of protein on the top. However, the sandwiches at this restaurant offer good decent portion of home-made meat/protein on the top, which is excellent recovery food after long distance cycling. Iedereen kent wel het schilderij van Jacob van Ruisdael met de molen in Wijk bij Duurstede.

Vandaag dit stadje bezocht en iets gegeten bij de Graanschuur onder de bekende molen van het schilderij van Jacob van Ruisdael. De bediening in de Graanschuur was vriendelijk en de gerechten waren smakelijk. Een prima plek om na een fietstochtje even bij te komen.

Het is begrijpelijk maar toch jammer er in zo,n leuke plaats naast elk prachtig oud gebouw een Kruidvat of een Etos gevestigd is.

Hier en daar nog een leuke oude steeg of een monumentaal pand of een bijzondere kerk maar dat is het dan wel. Bij de molen is de haven en even verderop is het kasteel Duurstede. Vanuit Utrecht een schitterende fietstocht van zo 25 km langs fruitbomen en...
