Esther We started the chefs suggestion of salmon and avocado and the oysters and then had the Crayfish Risotto and Kingfish Crudo It’s nice to see someone actually using the name crayfish instead of trying to upmarket it as Lobster! Oysters big and tasty with the raspberry vinaigrette The Risotto. I cannot begin to tell you how good it is. Made with a home made bisque and LOTS of crayfish pieces. It is sublime. I can’t remember ever having one as good! My husband and I dined at Sage for one of our last meals on New Zealand. Wow—what an amazing way to end our retirement trip to such a wonderful country. The evening at Sage is one that we will always remember and treasure. The drive takes a little while, but when you pull up to the restaurant, you will know that it was definitely worth it! Everything was superb—the view, the service, the wine, and the food! Every dish was amazing from the appetizers through dessert! Booked online, selected the optional platter, wine and complimentary Russell shuttle as a starter. Confirmed the day prior, called to check shuttle arrangements and emailed. Unfortunately on the day informed shuttle fully booked, Russells taxis weren’t operating and Sage were not flexible in accommodating us. Shame we missed out, we are sure it’s amazing. Have booked our in-laws as a Christmas present and hope they get a better experience.
