Columbus Coffee — Restaurant in Bay of Plenty

My friend and I stopped in at the whakatane hub cafe and planned to order a lunch item. At 1.30 its a late lunch but I'd still class it as lunch. My friend and i were looking at the menu above the counter deciding what to eat which took a few moments, then we went to order and the girl proceeded to tell us that the kitchen was closed because it had just received a big order. Firstly she could have mentioned something knowing we were clearly looking at the food menu that was a waste of our time. Secondly I looked around and the cafe wasn't busy there also wasn't a table with more than 3 people at it and lastly the girl serving also looked like she took pleasure in telling us that we couldn't have our food. Really disappointed with this visit to Columbus. Given the time of day I also find this really unacceptable in the hospitality industry to not still have the kitchen open no matter what orders are in. Won't...

Excellent food, tasty, hot and filling and accommodating to dairy and gluten free. Excellent service, kind, friendly happy and helpful. 2 of us are dairy free and they were very helpful and careful with our order. THANK YOU! They knew what ingredients are in their food and we all got to enjoy an incredible tasting lunch together (including being able to have dairy free eggs bene, potato rosti and even a chocolate frappe) Thanks for making our holiday that bit more special!! I loved the food, service everything, I've been there more than once, I love how the staff are so friendly and kind after I finished my meal it left me wanting more sooo delicious, everytime I go there I always leave happy and satisfied, I love going with my family, Columbus has helped us create new memories....out of all the cafes in the world Columbus will always be my favorite, thank you to all the staff members...
