Pearl Kitchen is a must-visit spot for breakfast or brunch, and the reason can be summed up in four words: Eggs Benedict with Bacon. This dish seems to be a favorite among patrons, as I noticed many people savoring it. And let me tell you, it lives up to the hypeāit's incredibly tasty.
Be prepared, though, as Pearl Kitchen tends to be bustling with activity due to its well-deserved reputation for serving delicious food and great coffee. Getting a table might require some patience, but trust me, it's worth the wait.
The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor dining options, with ample space that feels open and airy. What's even better is that Pearl Kitchen is dog-friendly, so you can bring your furry friend along. Woof!
I've also had the pleasure of visiting Pearl Kitchen for lunch, and I can attest to the delightful flavors they offer. I opted for the "Sticky Chicken Salad," which was a generous portion and packed with piquant flavors.
But Pearl Kitchen isn't just about breakfast and lunch. They also host "Social Club Fridays," where you can enjoy great house music in a chilled atmosphere. (I must admit, I discreetly used Shazam to identify some of the tracks.) Plus, they have a happy hour between 4 and 6 PM. And let's not forget about their mouthwatering sourdough pizzas and the tantalizing selection of small and greedy plates.
In summary, Pearl Kitchen has truly elevated the dining scene in Papamoa. Whether you're stopping by for breakfast, brunch, lunch, or even for the energetic Social Club Fridays, you're in for a treat. The food is delicious, the coffee is top-notch, and the atmosphere is vibrant yet relaxed. Just be aware that this place can get busy, so plan accordingly. Papamoa has indeed grown up, and Pearl Kitchen is at the forefront of this culinary evolution. Don't miss out on the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe stumbled across a lovely looking Pearl Kitchen. We were greeted by a young man who mustāve left his smile at home. We were asked if we were there for lunch, to which I replied, just coffee thanks. The sweets display looked interesting so I thought Iād order our drinks then perhaps have a closer look at something sweet. They did not have trim milk but had every other type of milk? I found this very very odd! Hubby wanted an ice chocolate. We were told they could do chocolate, milk and ice (oh my goodness!). At this point I completely forgot Iād planned to look at the sweet options. My coffee was beautiful, on the very small side for what was meant to be large. The ice chocolate was a huge disappointment! More like milk, milo and ice. We were not offered water like the other tables so figured the āfree waterā was only for customers eating. The staff need a lesson in friendly customer service. Theyāre the first person to greet customers and leave a lasting impression. Decided I would review and add photos after weād started on our drinks. My coffee looked lovely when it came to the table. The ice chocolate looked much like the photo just a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf the review was based off presentation and preparation of the food it would be a 10. Sadly everything was flavourless.
Eggs Benedict: No acid detectable in the hollandaise sauce and was extremely bland overall, the rosti although cooked perfectly was flavourless. The house made bacon was excellent but didnāt pair well with meal in general.
Kids meal (scrambled eggs): pretty standard although giving a 5 year old the end of a sourdough loaf isnāt the best, was unable to actually chew the bread. I tried it and the flavour was great though.
Overall looks like a decent place but just disappointed with the flavours and lack of any form of seasoning from the kitchen. Looking at the reviews and the pricing of meals made me expect a lot better quality.
The menu looks excellent and Iām sure the other options would be great, I would just avoid the eggs Benedict as there are far better options at almost any other...
