Culverden Bakery — Restaurant in Canterbury

When we pass through Culverden (which isn't offen) we always stop at the bakery for a delicious coffee and something scummy to eat. I noticed today there was gluten free options, which I don't know how long they have had that, we haven't been through for a few years. BUT, if you're a Coeliac ask first. Our daughter got a scummy crispy chicken bun and promptly demolished it, not GF. Coeliac hubby played it safe & didn't get food. We generally love pies from here. The flavours are great, the pastry is beautiful. Marked down a little after my most recent experience. My chicken and brie pie was found to have some sort of filler substance. Neither my husband or I could even tell what it was. I got a pie here today. The person at the front counter was incredibly rude. No hello, just "yes" while hiding behind the wall. Then "what you want" when comes up. The pie I got was a steak and cheese and it tasted almost watery, like the meat had been boiled. There wasn't much steak, just a few tiny bits and the rest was like watery mince.
