Had Sunday brunch here, first time after new owners took over. Service at front counter was good enough, however the wait time for our meals was borderline unacceptable (35min) given there seemed to be enough wait staff on (mostly year 9 high school kids) and I followed up twice. I only say this as I saw other people ordered/seated after us getting served similarly complex meals before us. The place was about half full, it was a sunny but cold day to be out. The big breakfast was ok probably about 3 out of 5. Poached ggs nicely done, tiny serving of beans, saus a bit dry and bacon even more dry which I couldn't finish.. Shrooms ok. Flat white was super sour, beans were bitter to the taste as opposed to smooth. I didn't ask about my mates meal but posting it for reference. I love the location/supporting local business, and I've eaten their great pancakes before the change, but I'd struggle to recommend it now.

This is a favorite Cafe for us. We visit at least once a week. The ambience is outstanding. It is a fabulous example of relaxed beach chill - friendly and welcoming to the locals, to visitors, to cyclists and runners, dogs, children and their parents! The garden is a wonderful place to spend an hour or two with choices about sitting in the sun or the shade, in a quiet corner for two or in a large group. The service is also excellent as the owners are nearly always there greeting guests and ensuring the service is both relaxed and professional. The food is also outstanding with an interesting choice of dishes which changes regularly.

The Vegan Toastie was so good!! The dairy free cheese was deliciously gooey and it had great seasoning overall. We also enjoyed the crispy Squid that came with a side of roasted garlic bulbs, yum! Great coffee, really like the small fudge that accompanied with my pot of English tea. The staff was fantastic, very welcoming and seemed like a fun group. The restaurant had a small playground, great for kids. And dog friendly with many different seating options. Sadly I'm not a local and only passing by. I will have to prioritise a visit the next time I'm back in Christchurch.

Hey guys, I'm excited to tell you all about the best cafe ever with the most amazing smoothies and scones! Get ready for a wild ride full of deliciousness and a sprinkle of humor. 🤩🥐🥤

Picture this, mate. You walk into this cafe, and the aroma hits you like a flavor tornado. It's like a big warm hug from the coffee gods. You know right then and there that you've stumbled upon something legendary.

Now, let's talk about their scones. These little beauties are like fluffy clouds of happiness. They're so good, they could make you do a happy dance. Trust me, you won't be able to resist their buttery, melt-in-your-mouth goodness.

One bite of these scones, and you'll be like, "Who needs love when you have scones like these?" They're so addictive, you'll probably end up having a scone addiction support group with your mates. But hey, there are worse things to be addicted to, right?

But wait, there's more! Their smoothies are like a party in your mouth. They're so refreshing, they could cool down a sunburnt kangaroo. Each sip is like a little taste of paradise, and you'll find yourself saying, "G'day, flavor town!"

Whether you're into fruity explosions or creamy dreamy delights, their smoothie menu has got you covered. It's like a smoothie wonderland where all your wildest flavor fantasies come true. Get ready to have your taste buds do the Macarena!

And let's not forget the hilarious quotes they have plastered all over the cafe. It's like a comedy show and a cafe had a beautiful baby. You'll be giggling into your scone and snorting your smoothie with laughter. It's the perfect combo of food and fun.

One quote that always cracks me up is, "I like my scones how I like my friends, a little bit cheeky and full of surprises." It's like they understand that scones are more than just a pastry, they're a way of life. Embrace the scone-ness, my friend!

Another gem of a quote is, "Smoothies: the only time it's acceptable to suck in public." It's a playful reminder that but nonetheless i can guarantee you will not regret...

My parents and I brought my son, nieces, and nephew here for lunch on Saturday. The service at the counter was slow(er) but I respected this because there was a sign asking for patience as they had a new POS system. The staff were lively and cheerful so that definitely helped the wait! My mum wanted the fish and chips but couldn't understand that for $26, there wasn't any salad included. So she would have to pay $5 to add a salad which would've made a pricey lunchtime fish and chips. The kids meals were $14 and in my opinion of eating a lot of places with kids meals, are massively overpriced. 1 piece of (what looked like) frozen fish and chips in a small bowl. Or 2 pieces of fried chicken and chips in a small bowl. My step dad got the angus burger and on arrival it just looked small, sad, and not very appealing. He did say it was tasty enough but definitely not worth $26.50. You can get much more stacked burgers elsewhere for cheaper. He also said his $10 mango smoothie wasn't anything special for the pricetag. My mum and I settled on the veggie quiche and salad that was in the cabinet and had a pricetag of $11.50. The quiche was deeelicious but the salad was not a salad, rather some lettuce with dressing. Regardless of this, I still thought it was well worth the price and presented beautifully on a wooden board. My $8 iced coffee was bland and tasted like watered down filter coffee. The only reason I didn't mention anything was because my mum isn't the most discreet when she is displeased and I didn't want to fuel her anger. We still smiled and used our manners, but the overall meal was nowhere near worth $140+. Other than this experience, I went for breakfast a couple of months back and both my friend and I loved our breakfast and our coffee. So I think I'd give it another go but maybe just stick to hot coffee and cabinet food, rather than the overpriced (for what you...

An ex and I have brunch here semi regularly. The food is good and the staff are excellent. The only problem we've had is having to wait til after our food is finished for a coffee once, but to be fair, they were slammed with coffee orders.

I've rated the atmosphere lower, only because of the number of entitled customers they get that have nothing better to do than complain about things that aren't an issue, such as a table of eight wondering why all their coffees don't come out at the same time? Hello! You're like 86. Surely this isn't your first time to a cafe and understand how coffees are made. They can sometimes be a little louder and annoying, but this isn't the cafe's fault. Just thought it was worth a mention, tagged with a request to be patient and understanding with busy staff that do an excellent job. 😁👍

Been back here a number of times and I've updated the service as with the exception of the above noted time, it's always spot on. Excellent and beyond customer service our most recent visit! Still not move the atmosphere rating as it was a bit too loud and still has too many entitled pain in the arses. Not the cafes fault and their people are wonderful, but still something a potential visitor is going to have to...
