LITTLE BROWN JUG (LBJ) Pub — Restaurant in Christchurch

We are very selective about where we choose to spend our money. Recently, we started going to this pub, and we were impressed by the owners from the very first day. On September 23rd, we were looking forward to attending a live band performance. However, we were extremely disappointed upon our arrival at 7:30 PM. There were four of us, and we couldn't hear each other because the band was playing at an overwhelming volume. We had to scream into each other's ears just to communicate.

It felt like the music was at 200% volume in a small, enclosed space. Other customers around us were also complaining about the noise level. We approached the bar manager, a blonde woman, to express our concerns about the loudness of the music and to request that it be toned down a bit. Unfortunately, she was quite arrogant and showed no interest in our feedback. She simply turned around and walked away without saying a word. We were appalled and shocked by her rude behavior.

As a result, we decided to leave immediately and support a different establishment/pub instead. This serves as a reminder for businesses, the customers are your lifeblood for financial success. It's not the other way around. The competition for entertainment nowadays is intense, and customers have countless options for where to spend their money. It's this simple, dissatisfied customers mean no income, and without income, a business can shut down, leading to job losses.

Came in tonight hoping to have a meal about 8pm but unfortunately was only able to order from the bar snacks. I was hungry at this point and decided Id order a seafood basket as I love what it had to offer 2xSpring Rolls,2xBeef wonton,2xFish bites and my favourite 2xprawn twisters with chips and 3 sauces. While waiting I got a cider and it was a good choice. The food was served at a reasonable time and service was reassuring as the bar lady communicated with kitchen. I enjoyed the prawn twisters and the spring rolls tasted good but the others were slightly over cooked as I had to eat around it. The brown sauce had a really nice flavour too. Im not one to waste food as I pay money for it to be eaten. I finished eating my fish bite and left almost immediately after placing my plate back on the bar. 8mins lately as I walk home everything I ate came back up 😔 it wasn't a good feeling , im absolutely devastated as this is the closets bar to me.
