Café Queen — Restaurant in Franklin

Wow what an awesome Café!!! A friend and I with a baby in tow came in for brunch and LOVED it. It was our first time visiting and definitely won't be the last. Our meals were delicious: the hash melt and BLAT just perfection - compliments to the chef. Hot drinks were perfect. Our take home sweet treats amazing: carrot cake and raw peppermint slice - it's so nice to find somewhere that caters to dietary needs out of the cabinet as well as on the menu. The eclectic decor kept baby busy whilst we ate. We love how the milk cartons are recycled into takeaway coffee cup holders - such a brilliant idea. But the stand out was the lovely staff member who served us was just incredible: a true asset. They went over and above not just for us but for a few customers whilst we were there despite having a rush come through and their other team member was on break, they were friendly, knowledgeable of the menu, energetic in the best possible way and welcoming. Went to your cafe last week as i often do to get my usual cappuccino and some cold drinks for wife and friends sitting in the car. It was 2.30 -2.40 ish. Was told by blonde girl behind the counter .We are closed and cashing up. I asked if i could just grab the cold drinks then. NO CLOSED was her reply. ( The front door was wide open )Your opening hour clearly state 3pm closing. Waiuku is a tiny little place and you turn away a loyal local with cash to spend . Go figure i was dumfounded to say the leased. I ended up going to the cafe down from you and was served no problems....

Now every now and then you find treasure. In Waiuku up the main road a bit. Just before the roundabout and opposite Gull. A blessing on Good Friday to find these hard working folk providing excellent coffee, perfect eggs, and unique cafe never the like of which will be found.
