Robert Harris Cafe — Restaurant in Franklin

I don't usually like to post negative reviews but unfortunately my experience at Robert Harris in Pukekohe today was very disappointing. I had wanted to treat my friend to a nice breakfast but unfortunately ended up wasting $49. We ordered the passionfruit sodas which were very bland and badically just tasted like straight soda water. I ordered the pumpkin soup which I was super excited for ! - unfortunately it was less pumpkin and more watery leak flavour - the toast was the only good part. My friend ordered the Hashbrown stack (the portion was very small and the elements seemed to have been thrown together) which was a huge letdown for the price point of $19, could have gotten much better from maccas to be completely honest. I would definitely not recommend , especially if you are needing to use the toilet. Toilets were closed at 2pm whilst cafe was open, and when requested to use was told floors have been mopped so cannot go in because of health and safety. My friend really needed to use the facilities and when I asked if this was possible was told to go to public conveniences in Farmers. Eventually after me pointing out that was not appropriate for toilets to be cleaned whilst cafe open, that they should be mopped at the end of the day and friend could not wait any longer -sign was reluctantly pulled down and mop bucket moved out the way- although not for long!...

Went in for brunch with the family, got told there would be a 7 to 10 minute wait for breakfast. After 40 minutes I went in to ask how much longer the food would take and got it another 5 minutes later but got the impression they had forgotten about us. My partner and i then waited a further 15 minutes while our food went cold as it turns out they had forgotten the pancakes my son ordered.
