Donburi Bowl — Restaurant in Hamilton

We decided on having some dinner at Chartwell (Westfield) Hamilton last Monday 12th July whilst in the area for a music festival. We chose Donburi Bowl which seemed quite appealing for the price and variety of meat and vegetables you got to choose from. My partner daughter & myself all chose a large dish with a choice 3 meats rice and all the salad & vegetables you wanted! We were not disappointed infact my daughter and I could not finish our meal so luckily the meal was served in a dish with lid we were able to take home. The mall was quiet as we dined later in the evening so enjoyed our dinner without the crowd noise the service was lovely and the food was well presented clean around the servery area. I really like Donburi’s food, but the service from two of their team members (middle-aged man and middle age women) is absolutely terrible. This has happened to me several times before, and I tried to ignore it, but it keeps happening. They never puts enough chicken – the bowl is mostly rice or salad, and hardly any meat. Sometimes the men even puts his thumb inside the box, which is unhygienic and disgusting.

He also doesn’t care about customers at all. I’ve seen him start arguments instead of listening to complaints, which is very unprofessional. The cost is already too high, but the portion you get doesn’t match the price.

Overall, the service is careless, rude, and disappointing. I won’t be going back, and I definitely would not recommend this...

seriously need better portions or lowering of item prices. Firstly the vege portions (same with the meat to be honest) are baffling because what do you mean you’re gonna scoop up portions of each vege option, smaller than the size of a newborns palm? 🤦🏾‍♀️ secondly, the large don buri bowl is basically what you’d get at a REGULAR size bowl, just at the price of a “large” and the “extra” meat option... make it make sense. The staff also aren’t as welcoming or friendly and for your business to keep drawing customers in, your customer service should also follow!
