Saffron Indian Restaurant — Restaurant in Hawke's Bay

One of the most delightful and tasty restaurants in Waipukurau. Staff do speak a little English and are very happy and excited to serve you. Large range of different Indian curries and breads for the side. The mixed platter as a starter was absolutely amazing. About 6 people for a small bite or 3-4 for a bit of a bigger entree. I had a mango lassi which wasn’t bad except quite sweet! For the main I had the Rogan Josh, with medium (2/3) spice level. Wasn’t actually too spicy which was nice and paired very well with the roti. There is also a couple Indian desserts too but I didn’t try them. Quite a nice dine in experience. Big Bang for your buck too. Do not recommend having delivery if you live further than some towns over though as it may cost more than the meal itself 😅. Definitely try it whether you are looking to try some Indian cuisine or want a tasty curry...

We were really looking forward to a nice evening out, we don't get to go out that often due to our schedules. All was fine when we sat down but then 15 loud obnoxious farmers came in and completely destroyed any chance of talking to each other or having a relaxing time. Unfortunately this ruined our rare outing and we couldn't leave fast enough. There is no ability to seperate parties from one another and if this situation does happen, be prepared to just switch to takeaways. The food was delicious, but when going out, that's not the only thing to make an evening go well. We were only served one drink and would have appreciated the chance to order more but the only waiter on was not able to look after...

Our first time here, and first impression was how spotlessly tidy and clean the restaurant is, and the spicy smells from the kitchen were enticing. Our family of 4 dined, having Goat Korma, Butter Chicken with the kids getting Fish & Chips and Nuggets & Chips, with Onion Bhaji, Garlic and Cheese Naan breads.
