Anastasis Coffee Roasters — Restaurant in Henderson-Massey

I live close by and each time I’ve been in there they aren’t very welcoming. Today was the last time I’ll order there. The app stated pick up at 11.33, there was a crowd outside so I knew it would take longer. At 11.55 my order still hadn’t been called, the young girl serving had absolutely no hospitality training and just shrugged shoulders at people asking how much longer they would have to wait. 2 or 3 asked for their money back as they had been waiting too long. The next two orders to be called were wrong, they gave someone cows milk who had an allergy and had requested soy milk, etc. I eventually asked for my money back at just gone 12, and the girl just handed me the cash without saying a word. No acknowledgement of the time wasted, nothing. I understand everyone is under the pump right now but at least an acknowledgment of the 30 min wait would have been good customer service. I went up the road to the BP garage to get a Wild Bean Coffee, I had the coffee within 3 minutes, $2 cheaper and served with a smile. Don’t waste your time at Anastasis. Shame but it’s clearly...

I tried out the great new kitchen in Anastasis Coffee Roasters. It’s an interesting mix of Chinese/ Taiwanese, Mexican and American street food with baos, birria, fried chicken and churros on the menu. I had forgotten how good baos were and these got me back hooked with great flavours and textures. The tacos are as good as any other birria tacos I've tasted in Auckland and the fried chicken had just the right amount of spice kick and comes with dipping sauce. There's some seating inside and an outdoor area outback with string lighting. Great vibe. They are also looking to get a liquor license and other offerings in the future. The current kitchen hours different to the coffee store openings are Wednesday 11am-2pm and Thursday to Saturday 11am - 2pm, 5pm - 9pm. Definitely worth stopping by...

My day just got ruined. I feel sorry for the owner of this place. The manager (a blonde girl), who refused to give her name, only knows how to make coffee but lacks customers service. All we asked for was some coffee and a couple of servings of bread but this person was way too busy with serving other customers and making their coffee, not taking care of our food (heating up). She could have simply heat our food while making other people's coffee but she lacks multitasking. If she can't handle the job why not hire another staff member?
