Caffè Trovare: The New Kid on the Block.

Expectations always run high when a new spot everyone’s talking about opens up — and after two visits this month, I can confidently say Caffè Trovare delivers. This is exactly what the Orewa / Silverdale area has been waiting for. From the beautifully plated dishes and the way coffee arrives on elegant trays to the sun-soaked outdoor seating, everything feels thoughtfully curated and refreshingly intentional.

On my visits, I’ve tried the custard cream croissant, Chicken Milanese, truffle fries, and a flat white — each one spot on. The coffee is consistently excellent, smooth and full-bodied, and its presentation adds that little touch of care that makes you feel genuinely looked after.

The custard cream croissant? An absolute standout — buttery, flaky, and filled with silky custard cream that tastes quality. The truffle fries are dangerously moreish, with just the right hit of truffle and the perfect crisp. And the Chicken Milanese was beautifully balanced — the citrus, capers, and pickled onions paired with the herb crumb chicken and potato perfectly, tying the whole dish together.

Caffè Trovare is fast becoming the go-to cafe for Coasties — the kind of place you bring friends to show off a local gem. I’m already looking forward to my next visit; the caramel apple cake in the cabinet has my name on it. Here’s hoping they start taking cake orders soon — they look too good...

It was raining and the Learning Center has empty car park but we were told off not to park however no signage of no parking or exclusively for parents only. It's our first time to the newly opened Cafe therefore no idea that there's an off street parking on the corner from the round about. We almost drive away and look for another Cafe at Millwater Parkway the nearest but good thing we were able to find a space. It's cozy inside except that the table assigned to us wobble. I don't know for other tables, probably it needed to be check every day if it wobble or not, looks like needed to be fixed up with a tight screw. Costumer Service is fabulous, it's full due to inclement weather outdoor isn't available so everybody is inside besides it's lunch time. The lady did inquire if dine in or take away ,I said dine in so she did keep an eye for a table, finally after 10 minutes one vacant table was available. We're only using my husband's lunch break so I'm sorry we can't give our reserved table to another elderly couple. Husband needed to go back to work. We ordered while waiting for the table, the mussels taste velvety while the salmon is flavorful. Muffins are tasty too, my child did love it. Coffee is good while tea is great too. Surely we will be back by summer when outdoors...

We are locals to the area and having tried Cafe Noire( the sister cafe we believe) we were excited to try Trovare. And it certainly did not dissapoint! The atmosphere is lovely, like you've just stepped into a cafe in Sicily with a lovely Italian vibe. The staff were attentive and very friendly. The food was amazing! My partner had the lasagne and it was a good size serving and incredibly tasty. I had the Tuscan Fettuna, and it was one of the best tasting meals I have had! I cleaned my plate. I will definitely be back for that! Compliments to the chef! The only small dissapontment was finding that they use canned tuna in the salad nicoise, had it been fresh I would have ordered it. But I understand it's hard to keep fresh tuna available all the time. Keep up the great work and I will be back and...
