Mrs Slocombe's Kitchen and Catering — Restaurant in Invercargill City

The food is delicious, Mrs Slocombe ( Janet) is lovely and the girls on service are caring and polite, however the reason for the 1 star is because we had the worst experience from Mr Slocombe ( Nigel) in front service, he was rude and condescending and frankly we felt unwelcome. I brought in a cake for my sons birthday last night we had 15 guests buying meals, Nigel informed us we should of let him know we had a cake and that bringing a cake in wasn’t going to make them money, I apologised for not letting them know, he said “ put it down there and pointed to the table in front of him. I asked if he would please pop it in the fridge so cream didn’t melt, he didn’t seem at all happy. The vibe in the place because of his attitude was terrible. I even took it upon myself to clear the dirty plates after dinner off the table so we could have the cake. Unfortunately we won’t be back which is disappointing as we often dine there only because of the delicious food. However the bad service out weighs that! We waited for an hour for our meals, only the owner Nigel, serving tables. He doesn't seem to care. Doesn't get flustered. He does this apparently, i was told, Was frustrating! But hey, The food was Deelicious!! Nxt time I go, I'm gonna take reading material 🤣 absolutely loved the food. Most flavorsome beef burger I've had, better than those overpriced restaurants!
