Columbus Coffee at Mitre 10 Levin — Restaurant in Manawatū-Whanganui

Pleasant staff unfortunately let down by the chef who does not know his menu. I ordered the Belgian Waffles which states caramelized banana, pistachio, blueberry and cranberry compote, served with maple syrup. This arrived at the table minus the banana. I asked where the banana was, the waitress went back to the kitchen and returned stating that I would have to pay extra for the banana if I wanted it. No where on the menu does it state the banana is extra. Either add the banana as stated I write on the menu that the banana is extra and removed the photos showing the banana...

Tables take to long to be cleared from other dinners, the staff are always friendly and polite but do tend talk to much behind counter when they could be clearing tables for new customers food is always running out and the kitchen closes early and cabinet food is only offered this can sometimes happen at 12.30 -1.00pm due to staff shortage ie chef not available. The other day a customer had to tell a staff member to wipe down her table and she used a dirty wet cloth which she used to clean down another table my husband was not...

Morning tea of pot of tea and a date scone. Real tea leaves in the teapot… no teabag. Big tick. Beautifully made date scone heated to right temperature. Big tick. All the food in the cabinets looked delish and fresh. Big tick. My friend is a coffee expert and enjoyed her coffee. It looks like Mitre 10 Levin are onto something right. Just need to get the timing of the tea and scone together to the table at the same time and not a 10 minute wait for the scone after the tea...
