We saw this place on the waterfront and decided to stop by for dinner. The inside was nice and toasty as they had a big heater and small gas fires around the restaurant. We decided to have the margerita, meat lovers and salmon pizzas for $25 each. The food didn't take very long to come dispite there being quite a lot of people there. The pizzas came within 10 minutes and they were quite small for $25. The crusts were thin and the edges of the pizzas were slightly burnt. The meat lovers and margerita pizzas were both very tasty but not very filling as they were so small. The salmon pizza was very salty and I think this was because there were so many capers scattered on the pizza, which made the whole pizza only taste like salt. Overall, an enjoyable experience if you don't mind spending over $100 to satisfy your hunger. But the waiters were very friendly and there was a good atmosphere.

Two Mile Bay is easily the most "lake-front" dining in all of Taupo, with picnic tables on the sandy lake shores; the location makes this place special. The food is decent, pizzas are good at near $30 at the upper end of price, but at the smaller end on size, but tasty enough though. The toasties seem decent, although my Reuben sandwich was technically not a Reuben, served on a Panini and not Rye bread and with only one slice of Pastrami. Good range of cocktails, (dedicated Gin bar on-site!) and Asahi (Boom!) plus the usual wines etc. Perfect on a summer's day, when the kid's can splash in the water and you can have a beer and bite in the sun! Biggest issue for me however; NO HOT CHIPS! I'm assuming that Two Mile Bay have heard this many times before; but pizza and beer in the sun with no hot chips.... that's a real bummer. Overall decent food in an amazing location!

The location, atmosphere and music were awsome and would come back just for that. However the service was very unfriendly and unhelpful. No smiles at all from any of the staff and they were just all very unfriendly. So confused with the high reviews re the pizzas?? The pizzas were overpriced and were the worst I've ever had!! They were dry and burnt and very underwhelming re flavor (mine tasted mostly like tomato paste). I would go back for a drink only mainly for the beautiful views and cool vibe and hope the staff were a little happier /friendlier next time.

We have been here a few times when down from Auckland for a few days away from home and we like it. The location is very good being right by the lake there, the atmosphere there is very good, nice and lively , the food is pretty good and the service is good EXCEPT for one time on a most recent visit there. The lady that it concerns shouldn't even be working there with the attitude she had towards us. It was around 9pm or so and people were leaving so of course staff are going to try and start to clean up as best they can with the remaining people there. But the area we were in was empty except us and we still had drinks to finish. So this lady comes along to see what she can do there and starts moving some tables around , and moving chairs in a forceful manner . Then she starts taken umbrellas down and comes to one that's over my head a little. So she asks is it okay if I take this down and we said sure no problem. But then when collapsing it she wacks me on the head and just mutters sorry....Rude!!! If she wanted us to move she should have politely asked . Is that so hard? Instead of trying to give people hints to move. Basic manners. Especially in customer services. Geez, go learn how to talk to and deal with customers and then come back and do the job properly. I give this lady a half star for her service , lucky to get that. So...

It was suggested for us to go here by our accomodation provider, being directly across the road, as we could take our dog. A great place, wonderful environment, pizza’s were good (albeit a touch pricey). The issue we had were the owners friends who decided they had the right to move beside us, while we were eating, and have their cigarette smoke blow over us. When we asked them politely to move, we received attitude and told we were rude. It could have been left there until the young woman’s mother (who also looked like Paris Hilton was her style icon, like her daughter), joined and proceeded to pull out her smokes. They then started gossiping about us, in front of us. To which we responded. The outcome was, we were told by them they know the owner and they would have him come and tell us to F off. When we spoke to the staff we were told this was a common problem by the owner and his friends. They seem to have a self entitlement to perform how they wish as being locals who know the owner. This is is interesting given 90% of the people there were not locals. Furthermore, when we left, the Paris Hilton’s cheered our departure.

If you want to go to place where the owners friends attend and are horrible people, because they know the owner and the owner does not care, by all...

Great Pizza, but the Bathroom Break? Awkward!

After a long, soggy day of golf, we decided to dry off with some dinner at Two Mile Bay Sailing Club—and boy, did we hit the jackpot! We ordered the Salmon Pizza, Mexican Pizza, and the Dooza (their house pizza), and all three were so good we somehow managed to go back for seconds. It turns out, no matter how full you are, there’s always room for more pizza.

The live music was a nice touch, though a bit too loud for my taste. We found ourselves shouting over our slices just to chat.

The staff were generally awesome—super friendly and attentive—except for one... unique experience. While I was mid-bathroom break, a waiter decided to stroll in, lock eyes with me, and stare until I was done. It was the most intense bathroom experience I’ve ever had. As we were leaving, the same waiter casually lobbed a dirty towel across the room, just barely missing us on its way to the bin. A true flair for the dramatic!

But hey, aside from that, the food and atmosphere were fantastic, and we’d definitely recommend it. 4/5, with an extra point if you’re into accidental...
