Wild Oats Bakery/Deli/Cafe — Restaurant in North Island

As a regular cafe go-er, I'm accepting of their prices. Even though they're not in a city, they're the only cafe open on a Thursday morning so they have a captive market. What is taking the mickey however, is because they have just one vegetarian cooked brunch option they then charged me additional to remove bacon from another meal so I could make that one vegetables. It's short order service - nothing was precooked and my request did not mean additional work for you to do. Claiming to have the best food selection in the country would be true if the Bakery-Deli-Cafe catered to everyone. If you are gluten free and dairy free, I do not recommend entering. Nothing in the Deli cabinet was gluten free, let alone gluten free and dairy free or vegan. There was one gluten free muffin which wasn't dairy free and one vegan slice to choose from in the Bakery cabinet. I didn't even have a chance to look at the menu as there was a 40 minute wait on a Sunday afternoon. Time I didn't have as I was passing through. With dog and children, we were looking for a cafe that could cover a morning stop before the playground. The smoothies at Wild Oats were a hit with everyone and the baking went so quickly, it's hard to recollect. The outdoor tables were fully occupied when we arrived and we had to wait a while before getting a seat with the dog. Despite one other table with a number of dogs, there didn't seem to be water bowls available, nor a decent place to tie a lead against.
