Blah Blah Blah Cafe & Bar — Restaurant in Northland

Upon reading other reviews here, we decided whilst visiting Dargaville, to check out the Blah Blah Blah cafe (arousing fond memories of the show Arrested Development also!). We ventured across the road after easy parking (with trailer to boot), to be welcomed at the door and straight to a window table that allowed views through to the Kitchen and further dining out in the back courtyard. The ambiance is casual and clean and the service was fantastic. The staff are friendly and at ease with help needed to access any information about the food. There is many choices to suit all tastes and my fish of the day was a pleasure. Just the right amount for lunch and the chef's touches were noticeable as the colours surrounding the fish were a delight for palette and the eye. T'other thought the brisket was a mouthwatering experience of which his appreciation of a well cooked piece surprised him due to past experiences elsewhere. He felt the chef had done a lovely job of a well presented ,well cooked and enjoyable lunch, also the right amount for lunch. There is a good selection of drinks and in all a thoroughly enjoyable experience. To top it off we enjoyed muffins the next morning freshly cooked daily and flavorsome. We were there last Wed evening. 5 adults and 4 children (ages ranging from 15 months to 8 years) and had been up to Waipoua Forest and Kai Iwi lakes for the day so were very casually dressed. We were welcomed in and were the sole occupants of the garden area at the back. A highchair (straps a bit grubby) and box of toys to occupy the children. Bathrooms great. The staff were very friendly and efficient and the food delicious. Entrees and mains of Lamb rump, Angus steaks, fish of the day, and a pizza 'to go'; kids enjoyed pasta of the day and corn chips - all delicious and cooked to perfection. I wasn't too concerned about prices (so haven't registerede much in my memory) as we were in need of good food and that indeed is what it was. Our bill was just under $300 which included beverages. I ordered the egg Benedict, it was quite simply devine in every way, the bacon was crispy, my pouch eggs was runny, the little salad was fresh & crispy. The staff are absolutely fantastic outstanding customer service from all the staff members. The owner has to be proud of his/hers employees they are a credit to whomever the owner may be. The egg Benedict was one of the best I have ever had, most certainly matches up with the top 10 café in Auckland for sure. The coffee ☕ also top quality very impressive with the overall experience.
