The Bakehouse Cafe Dargaville — Restaurant in Northland

This cafe is one of a precious few in Dargaville but it's my least favourite. Big meat eaters who like fatty, unhealthy food clearly find it a viable option and it has an extensive menu (as well as cabinets) full of such edibles. I took my 8-year-old there last Saturday because she wanted chips for lunch, and the other cafes don't do hot chips, and thought I might find at least ONE vegetarian item on the menu. But no... not one thing in the cabinets, and not one thing on the menu... apart from the hot chips!!! In this day and age I find that incredible, both from a health point of view and simply one of providing options. It's like something from 1983 in terms of the type of food they offer. Only place that is open @8am in Dargaville . Order Breakfast French Toast and Bacon/cheese Omelet.

The OMELET was not an Omelet looked like eggs on top of the bacon and a little bit of cheese. NOT IMPRESSED.. When I asked the Lady Omelet is folded over and the bacon , cheese inside. She couldn't speak English! Then asked to cook a Vegetarian Omelet she refused to cook.

Ok right ill have my money back on both Meals..

Definitely my choice for a bakery in Dargaville. The other bakery in tiwn is good, this bakery is the best. Very busy on Saturday morning! Great selection of sandwiches, pies, sweets, hot & cold drinks and hot food. Reasonable prices and great sevice with a smile. I recommend the seafood pie (another first for me) and the flat...
