Two Birds cafe Ruakaka — Restaurant in Northland

Father’s Day - I took my husband and our 4 year old for brunch, we made our order and sat down for our order to be made, a lovely couple arrived and we spoke with them for a while until their meal was served to them…. I sat there thinking hang on where is our order it has been 40 minutes and we arrived before these people and they have been served their meal before us. I see 1 of the chefs speaking to the couple then a second chef come out so I approached the counter asking where our meal was… the chef was confused and thought we had already received our meal…. I read out our meals and he was even more confused….. it seems the waitress did not hand in our food docket!!!

The chef was very apologetic and offered to quickly make the meals but we had a open home that we had to be at so we couldn’t stick around….. HOWEVER the waitress standing right there offered no apology for her mistake and completely ignored the Situation..!

We were looking forward to our meals as we have heard great things about this place but clearly...

Me and my daughter couldn’t decide whether to come here or go to the marina cafe. Besides the view there, the eggs bene is average so thought we would try here. So glad we did! The Monk (eggs Benedict) is delicious! The sauce is nice and wasn’t spared, the bacon is soft and crunchy in the right places, the ciabatta toasted perfectly. Wilted spinach is my fav on eggs bene. One of my eggs however was hard, usually I would be disappointed and send it back but I just couldn’t because even then, everything was still delicious. My daughter’s eggs were perfect though. Our Top 2 eggs bene we’ve had and we’ve tried almost every cafe in Whangarei. The young lady that served us was friendly and awesome. She gave us some of the tropical smoothie to try and it was so yummy, we will definitely be getting this next time along with their Monk breakfast. Highly...

Hard to find great coffee, decent cabinet food that differs from other cafe's but certainly got both today. I had a steak and cheese pie, and loved the pastry and filling was a good balance especially the gravy in the pie. I have had my share of muscle fritters but these are one of the best I have had. Great ratio of muscle to batter mix. My wifes coffee was excellent and she is picky on coffee. Lastly I asked for a milkshake and got a proper milkshake not a thick shake. Staff always clearing tables even though they were very busy serving. Decor could do with some updating but satisfied and...
