Rakau — Restaurant in Otago

I called in here while doingg the new biking trails. It was a nice sunny day and it looked inviting. There are bean bags and other seating in shade or sunshine. I ordered a pre made calzone which was re heated in the oven and was tasty. I had ordered a coffee but the sole attendant forgot that and eventually made it when I asked him again. I noticed a mess behind the counter and birds flying in and out and eating from an open flour container, not too hugenic I would suggest. No food poisoning however and besides this everything else was ok. All it would take is to put lids...

Arrived with a group of friends. The team seemed busy. However no one acknowledged we were there for about 15 minutes. We then have up and ordered online. It said it would take 40 minutes to cook. That was fine. However I feel like I had to tell them that they still needed to make my pizza. When I got my pizza it looked like they were cleaning up. My friend was still waiting for his pizza and they realised that they had forgotten one. Didn't feel like I needed to remind them to do their job. Also pizza had missing ingredients. Coffee and pizza taste nice but...

We came here 3 years ago when we visited for a holiday and left a review, today it deserves another!

We came here today for a quick snack before our dinner reservation. But the pizza was so good we ended up canceling our dinner reservation to have our dinner here. It was a very, very busy day for the owner today but he still let us know how long it'd take and he was happy to make our pizza after the wait. Honestly the best pizza in New Zealand and worth the wait. Would give 10 stars if we could!!! P.s try their brownie too!! It's as good...
