Tried buying a Cesar salad to go,I wait almost 15mins!! The salad is in the display cabinet!! How hard is it to put it in a take away container?? Only for the doughnut to give me something totally different!! I look at and say to the salad expert,"ahh this isn't Cesar salad" He looks at me and says "are you sure??" He gave me a roast vegetable salad. He takes it back and 3 of them get into a huddle,I'm confused they take the actual Cesar salad out of the cabinet they all look at it,and then doughnut number 2 asks who's wants the salad?doughnut number 1 points at me,and then doughnut number 2 comes up yo me and says ahh sorry the Cesar salad is not good,the leaves are rotten??? Why do you have it displayed in the cabinet for sale then??? And then tries to offload the roast veggie salad to me,immediate red flag,asked for a refund and offers me something a lesser value than what I paid for. I’ve had meals here on numerous occasions and the food and service quality has been very good, HOWEVER I came here on Thursday 16th May at 2.20pm with my son. The young lady at the counter, who I had never seen on my previous visits, looked very disinterested. I asked her nicely if I could have the menu. She offhandedly informed me that the kitchen closed at 2pm. I said but it’s only 2.20 and you close at 4pm? She said yes the kitchen at most cafes close that early 😂. I said I don’t think so, and walked out and went to the Songbird cafe about 200 metres down the road and had 2 beautiful steak meals. The Songbird Cafe kitchen was open till 3.30pm by the way. We haven't been this disappointed for long! We've been there several times before when they first started, and we enjoyed meeting the female owner who seemed to care about her customers. We went this morning to have a breakfast after a couple of months of not being there, and although we were there at 8.00am my corn frittata stack was the most stale thing I ever tasted. We were wondering how long it's been there, early in the week or even last weekend! My husband ordered their big breakfast and to him it was tasteless, lacked seasoning and wasn't value for money but compared to mine it was at least eatable. Very very disappointed as the coffeeshop is just across the road from us, yet we won't be back to east there ever...
