I walked up to the empty counter with a smile and said good morning. The blond female at the counter said sternly "order at the booths". I was a bit taken aback but went up to the booths, got to the last screen and the payment system wasn't working. Frustrated I walked up to the counter and asked if I could please order there. The other blond young female said sternly "no, you have to order at the booths. You can pay at the counter". A confusing response as there was no indication on the screen that I can do that, and they clearly don't want me at the counter. I asked why can't you help me? Again "order at the booths". She must have been able to tell that I was getting angry because as I turned to walk back to the booth to try and figure this out, she called out "I don't care why you're getting angry! You have to order at the booth!". I didn't bight. I tapped the screen where it then had the option to pay at counter. As I went to pay, this time at the cafe counter, I was greeted by a lovely lady with a big smile. I asked her why I can't order at the other counter and she explained that it's because they don't have the plexy glass barriers there. WOW if only the other rude two individuals could have explained that. So they were rude in the interest of public safety? As I was waiting for my order, another gentleman was treated the same way and was equally frustrated. He went to the counter to explain that the payment system wasn't working. The blond manager again tried to brush him off but didn't budge, so she gave in and went out to show him how to do it. She went out and stood within 30cm of three customers! She touched the screen with her gloveless hand then went back inside and (without washing her hands) started filling drinks, handling the lids inside and out, then kept handling other food.
Some people just should not work in customer service and both of these two young women are prime examples of that. I have no idea how one of them...

Read moreWell the burger looked great. Was put together nicely. Rare to see. However upon walking into the restaurant I saw no staff (except one in a yellow Tshirt playing with a balloon with her back to me. But i assumed she wasnt staff at the time as she wasnt behind the counter and honestly seemed like a mentally challenged customer) i waited awhile. The called out hello? To staff in the back of the restaurant. To which the yellow Tshirted girl spun around and said oh hi! Jave a smile and gave me a sticker... thanls i said taking the sticker. Still trying to assess what her role is in all of this. She then says we are not taking orders here. You have to use the automatic teller and pointed to them.. i gk off to use one (couldnt locate a georgie pie) but managed to get the assistance of another child to find it. Made my order.. waited 20mins for puckup. All up a 30min stop. Which had i known at the time wouldnt have participated in. Would have used the BP for a pie instead. I realize mcdonalds is an equal opportunities employer and for that is commended. But the lack off attention the young girls (there were 5 or 6 that i saw chatting in cnrs etc) are paying to the actual customers is letting the team down. Lets play keepy up with the balloons in our own time and maybe get those willing but challenged 'employees' to face into the restaurant. And thereby appear to...
