I have given Mc Donald's Warkworth restaurant 1 star, simply because leaving 0 stars is not currently an option. Earlier today, my Grandparents went to the Mc Donald's restaurant in Warkworth with my young daughter. Their intention was to sit in the restaurant and enjoy a treat family meal together. My Grandparents have not been to a Mc Donald's restaurant for some time due to illness and mobility issues. Needless to say, some changes have been made since their last visit. Restaurant patrons are now expected to operate the "self service" touch screen monitors to order their own meals, and no one is available at the front counter to advise new customers on this process, let alone take orders. My Grandparents, in their 80s, clearly had no idea what to do. They stood at the counter that orders are delivered to for some time, waiting for somebody to advise them. No one came... yet, that's not even the worst of it. Various members of staff saw my helpless Grandparents standing there looking for help, yet turned their heads and chose to ignore their prescence entirely. My Grandparents, who have spent their lives working tirelessly in aid of other people, who have clothed, fed and assisted more people in various ways than you could ever care to count... were being snubbed at a greasy Mc Donald's counter. They eventually gave in, opting to leave without food. My daughter (who was with them) is 6 years old and even she can see what is inherently wrong here. This was heartbreaking. Please attempt to contact me privately, so I may pass on my Grandparent's details to you. I expect the duty manager and staff that were on this afternoon to apologise to them for this truly atrocious lack of service...
Read moreI can navigate my way around a computer, but refuse to use those awful self service things at McDonalds. A lady in front of me was served today at the counter, but when I went up, the very unfriendly woman said I had to use the self service. Told her I didn't want to, didn't know how to, just wanted to make a simple order. Was told no, so I left. No offer of "here, let me show you" Will never go back. You are a hospitality business for gods sake. McDonalds used to believe in quality, service, cleanliness and value. You scored 0/4. An owner/operator from Palmerston North said he wanted a more personalised experience, more hands on, more social interaction. YOU DON"T GET THAT FROM A DAMN MACHINE. The sooner one of the other fast food chains comes to...
Read moreThis Mc donalds will surprise you in nasty ways. Some examples. 1) After a tiring day of work after travelling entire Auckland to Rodney you would want to eat Mc Donalds in peace by sitting and find out they are only accepting cash and their ordering machines are not working. 2)On a Friday or Saturday you would want to sit inside restaurant and find out they have sent the staff home early and are only serving drive thru. 3) On certain days you would find that after ordering they would ask you to clear the restaurant as they are closing early. So, this restaurant should be last on the list and if you are crossing main Auckland then have Mc Donalds from any one of the main ones than trusting this restaurant or its staff to...
