Let me just say that the staff were great, friendly, attentive, helpful. The food was priced high, which would’ve been fine if the quality met the price tag. For starters we ordered the polenta chips and the Korean chicken, $18 and $24 respectively. The polenta chips were nice, but we received only 6. The Korean chicken was again, nice, but we received 3 small pieces. I had to double check the menu to make sure I hadn’t ordered a half serving.
My wife had the scotch fillet which she said was nice, not well seasoned, but cooked well. The chips were the best part of the meal. I ordered the St Louis ribs which were not tender, and likely cooked on a prior day. The coleslaw was brown and bitter, and from a packet.
The view was great, the staff were wonderful, but we went there for the food and were disappointed. This is not the first time I have left feeling unsatisfied after a meal, dispute thinking each time things may have changed. After spending almost $200 that will, unfortunately, be the last time I will use the establishment outside of...
Read moreThought well try this place for xmas lunch, would not advise or go here again. Our phone booking was cancelled twice, lucky the wife phoned to confirm as they overbooked there lunch time sitting so we got move from 12pm to 11am. Nowhere on there site or mentioned on our phone booking that there was a 15% surcharge just said $98 per person. When we turned up after a 2 hour drive we were told of the surcharge so was totally disappointed, as if we could just turn around. Alot of people were not happy being told on arrival, the food was average the set up was really bad butter at one end bread at the other end. Gravy was before the meat so people were cutting in to access the gravy, when I emailed my complaint the manager said everybody puts a surcharge on dont know why you wouldn't advertise that on your website instead of charging people at the door when you really have no other option. Would highly advise to make sure before heading here for us we been there done that and will not be back...
Read moreFood is good from basic burgers and fish & chips to more advanced calamari (although the Buffalo Wings were too spicy). No questions asked. The place itself, however, is a bit of a mixed bag very much depending on what you are looking for. As a wedding venue it's a slam dunk 5 out of 5! The hall itself is nice and big enough to accommodate a good size wedding reception. The restaurant adjoining the hall offers extra room for life band and dancing guests and has a nice bar for refreshments of all kinds. The covered verandah extends the venue and charmes the guests with nice beach atmosphere. For those who want to tuck their feet into the sand just have to cross the quiet back street and will be blown away by this beautiful beach. During daytime, however, the restaurant is on the inside as appealing as a food hall where noise is echoing loudly. If you manage to grab a seat outside you have to be lucky to catch a glimpse of the beach pass the parked cars....
