Bay View Hotel — Restaurant in Waikato

Great spot for a yummy lunch! It was really busy the day we visited, so there was an hour wait on food but they told us this and we were happy to wait. We sat outside, and we had our dogs, and it was so nice and spacious out there , so nice on a beautiful blue sky day!

It was a bit confusing with the bar and then the smaller "bar" where to order - especially if you haven't been there before. To get out to the garden from the bar/restaurant, you had to walk through their covered outside area - those tables were all full, and almost everyone there was smoking under that cover. I appreciate that they were outside, but it wasn't the nicest thing to walk through every time you needed to go in and out to order or use the toilet.

In terms of food, I ordered the chicken burger, and it was AMAZING - I would highly recommend it. The sticky wings were plentiful and tasty, and the kids' meal was good too.

Overall, I would recommend going and enjoying their food. If you have dogs, the outside area is perfect to have them...

Nice view from the pub window. Alright feed and atmosphere. I like the sign by the front door. Visited twice since the above review. 11th and 12th January 2025, ate a meal with the family on the decking and again out in the backyard beer garden. Both meals were great. The 11th was really busy, 45 minutes waiting on meals because of that, but presentation and quality were still good.
