I google searched cafe and chez bean was reccomended when I was traveling into tuakau. Street parking if you are driving 🚗 . Out door seating available. 🚻 toilets are also available. Baby high chairs 💺 are there for your little one's. I was greeted with a smile and shown menus . I ordered the creamy mushrooms 🍄 on toast and delicious 😋 and sweet corn Fritters 🌽 😋 absolutely 💯 loved it. I will be coming back if I'm out this way again.

Food and drinks were very delicious. Chicken was moist and crunchy, not drenching in oil. Brioche bun was toasted beautifully. The fried egg was perfect- with runny yolk, which I liked. The salad was also very tasty. Double win for the drinks that were served with a marshmallow and a chocolate fish! But servers don't smile :( The toilets were also a bit dirty. One had lights that weren't working.

Nice warm little cafe that offers great coffee, a small selection of cabinet food plus a nice range of menu items. The log fire inside is a definite bonus on a cold day. I enjoyed a couple of coffees (both were excellent) plus the breakfast bap, which to be fair was decent but could have benefited from some additional saucing. Overall it's a two thumbs up from me

Never got to taste the food which was ashame as we were going to order the steak meals + I have heard from others & partner that food was yummy but the reason we left is my 3 year old ASD (Autistic) son was not allowed to eat his food that we bought for him, if you understand autism then you'd understand that they only eat certain foods everyday, when I advised the lady that he is autistic so he only eats certain foods which we had already she still said he still wasn't allowed to eat his food there, I looked at the menu also and wasn't anything he'd eat (mindful he is hand fed still as he is very sensory also) so we left, wasn't going to support a business where my ASD toddler had to watch us eat.

I know it was not the front of house persons fault however I feel there could be a policy change for things like this with families that have children with special high needs.

Very upset about this, he's literally only 3 years old and as a parent it's disheartening that little things like this could not be accepted in regards to his disability (as that's what it is...

This establishment refused to allow my nephew who is 3yrs old and has autism and sensory boundaries, to eat his snacks while his parents enjoyed a meal there. This is unacceptable and I am livid that this type of discrimination still exists!

Please do better in the future if you want your business to thrive.

Also the snarky attitude of the server was not appreciated. My sister left feeling very deflated from her interaction with them, she deals with a lot already having a child with autism and I would hope that an apology is made to her and my nephew for the ultimate lack of service and empathy you portrayed.

Until this issue is rectified satisfactorily, I will be spreading the word on the low level of morals and care for the community that helps your business...

It's not everyday you get to experience a recommended establishment that ticks all your boxes and exceeds your expectations and your taste buds. Hadn't even walked completely through the front door and was welcomed with a vibrant hello. The staff had a real customer satisfaction focus which was just a real breath of fresh air with a friendly family valued approach. Our big breakfast, Egg bene and scrambled egg meal was a definite value for money and the size of the meals exceeded the limits lol. Coffees and the peach tea were amazing hit of joy with a fantastic aroma. Real credit to the team.. Definitely recommend and is on the list to return for another satisfactory experience.. Thank you. Highly recommended...
