Waitomo Glowworm Caves Cafe & Restaurant — Restaurant in Waikato

I recently visited the Waitomo Caves and wanted to share my experience. While the caves themselves were truly spectacular and a must-see, there were some aspects of our visit that left me slightly disappointed.

Firstly, we encountered an issue with one of our tickets. Due to a credible reason, we needed to request a refund, but unfortunately, this process was not as smooth as expected. It was quite frustrating that despite having a valid reason, we didn’t receive a refund for one of our tickets.

Additionally, our experience at the cafe on-site was not very welcoming. I experienced a delay with my order, and the staff didn’t seem very accommodating or eager to assist. It would have been nice to receive more attentive service, especially given the tourist nature of...

Went and had lunch today at Waitomo Caves Cafe and Restaurant. What a lovely place, although it was raining, you were protected and sheltered by the overhead canopies.

It was lovely looking out through the rain to the cows grazing on the paddocks across the road.

Place was humming with tourists eating, purchasing, and socializing before or after their caves experience.

The service was excellent. Even though they said there was a delay, kai and kāwhe arrived promptly. Burger was good, as was the coffee.

It's worth a stop if visiting...

I've been visiting Waitomo for work for the past 10 years, and I usually enjoy a free meal with coffee at the Waitomo Caves Cafe. However, I recently had a disappointing experience.
