Daily Bread Bakery - Waiwhetu — Restaurant in Wellington

I've tried a number of bakeries for that great Kiwi Pie experience when you come back home to the 'Green Green Grass of Home,' and you just want a really good pie??...well, this is the place for me!!!

Popular. Always busy with people coming in and out. Bakery on the corner main road just before you head up the hill to Wainuiomata so traffic is busy but managed to get parking on both sides of main road and side road.

A variety of fresh, tasty, delicious food. Hot drinks too. It's my number one go-to-Bakery in the area.

Love the back story. Owner was a hard working man, unfortunately passed away young. Community were saddened however the family honoured his legacy by continuing on....

Disgusting rude service! I ordered hot chocolates and some other things, and apart from the fact that she didn't understand what I was asking for, her attitude was very ugly and aggressive. So she had to call someone else to repeat my order, then the rude person came up to me and told me to take the rest of my order and wait. (Don't tell someone to wait in a pickup area and then put on an attitude when you go and do it.) I thought they were going to deliver my order all together. And aside from that, when she received the next customer, she received him embarrassed by the wait and apologizing as if it was my fault for not...

Probably the best bakery in Lower Hutt. Often busy, no paywave, but food is good to great. Just a heads-up up that their prices went up last week. Not complaining because they are just passing on their suppliers increases, just letting you know. Another reason I stopped going over a year ago was suddenly the pastry in the pies became really thick. Not sure if it was a new chef or not but became too much for my stomach. Haven't been back since so many have been a one off? I will try to get there again to test it because this definitely "was" my favourite pie shop. Definitely give it a go and try for...
