La Kebab — Restaurant in Wellington

Very good service with friendly and welcoming staff. Nice atmosphere for a little takeout store. Tidy and clean with some reading material for while you wait. Music playing was a little on the loud side but probably needed with the busy road.

The food was average. We had a falafel kebab and a haloumi kebab both with hummus and aioli. Neither of them were hot or even warm (and we ate them only a few minutes after getting them), so not very appealing to eat.

*Falafel had an ok taste but the texture was not right at all (did not seem cooked properly as it soft right through and had no crispy outer). *Haloumi had good flavour and texture but would have been nice if it was warm. *Tabbouleh was non-traditional. Not much flavour. Seemed like it might have tomato powder or something similar on it (had a reddish tinge). We are used to traditional tabbouleh with lots of parsley, mint, and lemon juice. The texture was also a bit soft for the tabbouleh grains, so it kind of had a more risotto-like texture than traditional tabbouleh. *Hummus was good with nice flavour and texture. Not the most amazing hummus I have ever eaten but also not the worst, so gets a pass. *Aioli was rather runny and made the bottom section of the kebab very wet and messy to eat. I don't think it added much to the flavour, so perhaps a different sauce would be better to try. *Salad seemed fresh. *Wraps were just regular run of the mill wraps, but they were ok.

Overall average but could be greatly improved by having the falafel crispy and hot, the haloumi warm, and the tabbouleh a little less risotto-like and more traditional in flavour. Not one of the best kebabs I have ever eaten (that currently goes to some I ate in Germany) or the...

Seen so many AWSOME reviews of La'Kebab thought my wife & i would try it ourselves for our Sunday Lunch.La'Kebab gets 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️because 1st Family run business Father & son served us with a pleasant greeting introducing themselves to us as first timers to their business. 2nd : Food was GREAT, The portions are HUGE ,fresh n tasty we had the mixed Iskenders x1 combo( wife loves hot chips ) & just the iskender for me. 3rd: I would normally eat what I purchased but definitely struggled to even come close to finishing it....I would 💯% Recommend this place for your next meal whether it's lunch or dinner....as I said to the owner before we left that we would return for more DELICIOUS FOOD very soon maybe try something else 🤔🤔🤔 Thankyou Team...

Look, just for a disclaimer, I know this family and I knew I should expect a decent meal. And did they deliver, oh yes. We ordered kebabs as I believe this is the best and quickest way to taste and enjoy mediterrian dish as takeaway where everything is wrapped so every bite has balanced, consistent taste. First, the size of portion is really generous, amount of meat is excellent. Second, the freshness of salad ingridients was zinging. And third - every meal was super tasty if not addictive!
