If you told me a few years ago that I’d become a Turkish food fan, I would’ve laughed while holding my sad wrap from some random Wellington kebab joint. But then… I met Kebab Point in Stokes Valley.
My boyfriend used to live in the valley, and one day he was like, “Let’s grab a kebab.” I was hesitant, flashbacks of dry meat and soggy lettuce haunted me. But I gave it a go… and honestly? My life changed. I realised I hadn’t hated Turkish food—I’d just been eating bad versions of it.
Kebab Point is THE standard. I now live in Wellington, where kebab spots are a dime a dozen, and yet nothing compares. The quality is consistent, the service is warm and friendly, and the taste? Read moreWe have eaten here a few times now and the food is delicious, the small mixed meat iskender portion is generous, the salads are fresh and the meat is soft. There is a sign up saying "tell us if you have any dietary requirements". My son has coeliacs disease and I have had 2 very indepth discussions about this with the lady owner and felt confident that they had a good understanding of the dietary requirements for this. When I queried this, I was given an answer by the man who was cooking that clearly showed he had no understanding or care about trying to cater for the dietary requirement. Sadly we can no longer safely eat here, and if you have coeliacs disease I suggest you...
Read moreThe person at the counter who takes order is a jerk. As a 2nd time customer who is still not familiar of the food (orders/set up) and wants to give it another try. The guy is an arab/middle eastern/Turkish (just for identity) because the other counter people were fine. i should know because i worked in the middle east. The food/sauces is different for me obviously that is why i cannot figure it out. He just keep sarcastically laugh when he does not understand what i want instead of teaching/helping me to get the right food/sauce for 3 times, rather than making your customer uncomfortable. That is not how you should treat...
