Boca Chica Cóctel Bar — Restaurant in Managua

This place was pretty terrible on all levels. To start with, the service is very inattentive: the servers actively ignore you even when it’s not busy (trying to order multiple drinks was an ordeal). I had to approach the bar to ask for my check and then also had to ask for my change after a long wait, it was obvious the waiter had no intention of returning it. The other servers seemed like they hated every aspect of their job and rather be anywhere else in the world.

The cocktails were weak and have twice as much sugar as they should. I finally requested that they make a basic vodka gimlet and provided exact instructions (literally one of the simplest cocktails in the world) and they struggled with even getting that right.

The atmosphere is probably fun if coming here late at night and just wanting to dance with a beer. But the music was playing way too loud even early in the evening when the place was nearly empty and it was almost impossible to have a conversation.

Finally, the upstairs bathroom didn’t have running water and the toilet didn’t flush. Pretty gross for an establishment that’s trying to be a classy spot.

I heard about this place through word of mouth, and it was described to me as an upscale lounge. Disappointing and dirty is not even close to describing how this place is. It is in terrible shape all over: seat cushions are falling off, toilets are not working, personnel were inattentive, and drinks were overpriced for what you get. The ladies’ bathroom experience was particularly appalling; they had no running water, and in place, they had a massive water tank next to the stalls where you were supposed to haul the water to clean your toilet bowl. Pase una muy mala experiencia en este lugar, precios demasiados altos tomando como referencia la mala atención de el lugar, los baños están siempre súper sucios y taqueados(ya se podrán imaginar con que), no tienen ni puerta en uno de los baño.
