Captains Bar Ilupeju Lagos — Restaurant in Lagos State

This was a surprise discovery.

I joined colleagues here and I was pleasantly surprised by the intricate art installations and aesthetics.

Nice, chilled spot tucked in the right corner of a close. Sheltered and open seating available. A few pet dogs (of the owner?) strolling around - could be a treat for dog lovers and tragedy for people scared of dogs.

Service is mediocre; meals ordered took well over 1 hour to be served - for no reason because we (all five of us) were the only customers there at the time.

The Egusi Soup was tasty but the Goat Meat was a sprinkling of bones with negligible flesh. Very poor value point.

The beer was chilled as should be, music volume was moderate.

Power was cut off without alternative power provided; for about 35 minutes before power was restored. Customer neglect.

A favourite upscale spot for residents of Ilupeju, it is nestled in the secure & serene Sere Close. Dotted by sculptures, artwork & bits and bobs of Lagos - you can sit on a pilot's chair in the indoor bar 😁, revelers immediately experience a relaxed ambience immersed in Lagos culture.

The outdoor bar is preferred by those who love the smell of suya (tenderised bbq beef) or bbq fish sizzling nearby while basking in the gentle breeze under the palm fronds.

Billards & snooker games entertained those in the games section while the indoor bar served those who preferred some level of privacy.

I ordered the catfish fish peppersoup & though the wait time was about 35 minutes, it was a delight digging in. Oh, the fish size served was way larger than I expected.

Located at the far end of Ibefun close . It's easy to miss this cool spot. The prices of refreshment is quite affordable for a space in Ilupeju .

They can do better with the peperred cow tail. I expected soft balls but was served something too hard to chew.

The ambience is just fine. Promptness in cleaning the tables after use is necessary. I couldn't drop my bag on the table because of this. Considering the pandemic is still very much within , I'll expect some extra level of care.

I didn't have cause to use the convenience so I can't speak on that.

They are presently running skeletal services due to the Government's regulation on businesses.
