Vintage cafe is a premium, quiet and cozy cafe in Wuse, Abuja that offers about 43 kinds of coffee from all over the world, 23 teas, homemade jams and an array of delcious baked goods. This place stays true to its name as it is decorated with pictures showcasing Nigerian history and culture.
At their first Coffee Tasting, We got to try two kinds of coffee, two teas, three jams and an array of pastry\baked goods. For Coffee, we had the Haitian and the Sumatra. Both coffees had a bold body and were medium roasts. The Haitian had hints of cinnamon and a sweet tobacco aftertaste which we liked. The Sumatra had this spiciness and is best enjoyed without any cream or sugar. For tea, we had the Caramel and Chocolate. Both were soothing, calming and would be a nice cuppa to have before bedtime. For jam, we had the Passion fruit, Jalapeno and Tomato jam. The Jalapeno had an interesting texture and tasted really good. It paired nicely with most of the pastry we were served. What really was fascinating was how the cafe was able to convert a staple Nigerian stew ingredient (Tomato) into a delcious jam that gives Strawberry a run for her money. For pastry, we tried about 10 but these are some of our favorites: their moist carrot cake, decadent lemon cake, Mexican Conchas, Waffle with Honey Sriracha sauce and Bagel with tomato cream cheese. Whenever you visit make sure to try the Bagel with the tomato cream cheese and thank us later.
The Coffee Tasting was an intimate and amazing experience. The owner of the cafe spoke so passionately about the different kinds of coffee, teas, jams and pastry available at the cafe. We were entertained by a guitarist who even took song recommendations and of course, we can't forget the singing Chef which was a nice touch. We also got to smell some of their homemade tea. The Blood Orange Vanilla smells absolutely divine and it needs to be a candle. Lastly, we all got Loyalty cards and we became a part of the Vintage...
Read moreOn the 2nd of June, 2021. A friend called me and said we should meet up at Vintage Café, Abuja for breakfast. So about 10:48am, myself and my friend got to the Café . The menu list was given to us to choose what we want to eat. Before I continue, Vintage Café, Abuja is majorly a restaurant for only breakfast. They serve only breakfast menu. So I ordered Double Chocolate Pancake with strawberry with homemade yoghurt with Granola, my friend tried the customized breakfast which includes: Toast bread, baked beans, sausage and sunny side with a cup of Ethiopian Cappuccino. So, my home made yoghurt with granola including my friends Ethiopian cappuccino along side with cookies came first to keep our mouth moving while we were gisting. The food didn’t come till like 20 minutes because all their meals are freshly made, it wasn’t a bad idea and so I decided to be patient. While been patient , I started taking pictures of the environment, less I forget , the ambience was so awesome, I was excited. My order and my friends came at the same time. The excitement of eating breakfast outside was so all over my face. 😁 The double chocolate pancake was really tasty and I rate it 100% and I recommend anyone in Abuja too should try it. I as well tasted my friends menu, and indeed it worth the wait. The staffs were very friendly and courteous. I met with the director of Vintage Café and she...

We had “Shashuka” which is the meal that comes in the pan. Looks yummy right? You bet it tastes just as yummy. Shakshuka is a meal that is originally from North Africa but is more popular now in the Middle East. It is made from poached eggs with a mixture of simmering tomatoes and spices.
It was my first time tasting this meal and I liked it. You should know that Shakshuka is not spicy 🌶 We also had “Steak and Egg” which I actually sorta preferred to the Shakshuka because I love cheese 😁😁😁 It was served with homemade baked beans and Vintage beef patties 🤤 There was also the bread basket which featured butter bread, rosemary bread and a couple others. The bread was served with different amazing home made spreads like the mango jam (my absolute fave), blueberry spread and cream cheese. Omo!! They all tasted like heaven. For drinks we had coffee and Cinnamon & Apple spiced tea 🍵 oh dear! It was amazing. They make everything themselves, so you get rich, amazing food @vintagecafeabuja
I’m giving them 8.5...
