The saddest part about Rustikana is that it has some of the best burgers you can get in Skopje. Unfortunately that is just about the only positive thing that can be said about it. As a customer you can consistently expect to be exploited by Rustikana; The prices on the menu are not the real prices, the latter being significantly higher than what you are lead to believe by the menu. The servers need to be routinely chased down for your orders, and this process somehow becomes a lot more difficult when you are expecting your change back. Speaking of your change, always make sure you count it well, because you will always have at least 100den missing from it. This issue becomes a lot more frustrating when the servers are reluctant and moody when asked to give back the actual sum that they owe you. As I said earlier, this is really a sad situation, because their burgers are very good, but the horrendous exploitative "service" coupled with the fact that none of the other menu items are any good makes this place one of the worse places to...
Read moreRock kafana Rustikana is really a kafana with rock music. It's a modern twist on the traditional kafana. The interior is lovely and well decorated but the lightening is beyond bad. I have to give compliments to the menu design. So I tried chicken fingers, the so called veshalica, ribs and kebapi. The kebapi were somewhat okay but I wouldn't order them again. The chicken fingers were really good. They were soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside, perfectly seasoned and served with a really bad sauce(I think it was plain yoghurt). I liked the ribs probably the most. Well grilled, well seasoned and with crunchy bits of bacon. Maybe the only issue with the ribs is as you can see they are really small and flat. The veshalica is a type of pork, well grilled and served with a slice of cheese on top. Overall it is a nice place with really friendly staff but they need to work on improvements on the food. Next I'm gonna try the burgers since I've heard great...
Read moreLet me say that the ambient is nice and the service good. The food however… for the price they’re charging it’s disappointing.
Waldorf salad (8 EUR) was solid but the chicken in it was horribly overcooked and chewy. Chicken fingers (6 EUR), small portion, no sides, were mediocre. We ordered fries extra which were cold (!), soggy and under seasoned.
Burgers (9 EUR) have a 180g patty, unless they are top notch this price is a joke.
Look, if you would charge standard Skopje prices I could accept this quality, but since they are overblown the execution of the dishes must be at a much higher level to justify them.
Admittedly, they were preparing for an event so maybe I caught...
