National Restaurant Makedonska Kukja — Restaurant in Municipality of Karposh

Honestly this place blew me away. The service, the food and the atmosphere was just absolutely incredible. If you are in Skopje looking for some amazing homemade local food in a beautiful restaurant with amazing service than this is the spot. Our waiter told us that everything is home made and that they even have another restaurant in ohrid. If I could give this place more stars I would because the way the food just melts in your mouth and you can taste the freshness in every bite. It’s definetly a place I will come back to on my next visit to Skopje and I would advise you to come to this place if this is what you are looking for. Unfortunately I didn’t get any pictures of the food since I was to eager to try it after the enthusiasm our waiter showed us by the way he was explaining the food to us and we chowed down on it like there was no tomorrow because wow!...

Arrived on a Sunday evening and found the restaurant to be quite empty - no surprise, because Sunday evening isn't a big 'Kafana evening' in Skopje But it wasn't the only thing empty in the following hours..... When we got back to our hotel, I began to feel the symptoms of some food poisoning and this just got worse through the night and only resolved itself when I vomited in our hotel next morning. I'm sorry to write this, especially if you're thinking of eating there because this is not too nice to read about. I'm pretty strong, and yet that "Home made sausage" knocked me off my feet the next day. Someone much older or weaker than me might not get away as easily. Clearly if this happened a lot then people wouldn't go, and I also saw that the other reviews are mostly good - so, I might just have been...

Very desapointed by this place called "National Makedonska Kukja". This supposes to be an emblematic Makedonian kitchen, but instead managed by disaster. Unfortunately we experienced a very bad evening in this place with a group of people. Cold food served that supposed to be hot and no ideea from management how to organise a evening party. This place don't deserve this name. On top of that our bus was emptied of 250l of fuel in the car park. They promise the place is safe and have surveillance cameras that will guarantee the parking without problems. We won't recommend this place to other compatriots and will make a big complaint to this...
