That's Amore — Restaurant in Drammen

Booked a table a month in advance, invited a friend over from Bergen who flew all the way to Drammen to enjoy the Pizza.

As we arrived at the restaurant 30 mins earlier than we had booked for, we hoped it was okay and they said it was fine, but only after we were barely welcomed to the restaurant. We got a table for two and some water, a few minutes later we were asked for what we wanted to eat, we ordered two pizzas but before we asked for something other than water to drink, the server was gone.

We figured we’d start eating and they would pop by to ask us if it tasted well as any other respectable restaurant does, but no.

The pizza tasted decent, nothing special.

We finished the meal, and were waiting for 15 mins until they came to clear the plates, and that is after 20 mins of eating.

When they finally came to clean the table we figured they’d ask if we wanted any dessert og coffee, but no.

Nowhere to be found and after waiting 15 more minutes we had to go pay at the counter even if they normally take payment at the tables.

They should really train their staff better. What was even more annoying was that they posted a picture of our server on their Instagram page with the title «Our best server» I sincerely hope not.

We ordered the 5 pizzas tasting menu but for some reason the server suggested to get 4 pizzas and 1 appetizer instead of 5 pizzas as per the menu option originally specified. The server also seemed quite clueless regarding the contents of that specific menu option. After the first pizza we waited close to an hour to get served the remaining 3, and they hadn't even started making them. We asked early what the dessert was, and we were told it was a sorbet. When we requested the dessert they told us that the kitchen was closed and that we hadn't ordered a dessert. After a while we were offered cannolo which quite frankly wasn't tempting when it originally was supposed to be a sorbet. We also didn't get any of the side dishes the tasting menu specified was included, nor did we get any information what those dishes were. The food was good, but the service was quite frankly terrible. In total we waited approximately 2.5 hours between all the servings. We went here over the weekend and left with very mixed feelings. We really wanted to like this place and there were certainly aspects we enjoyed, but unsure we will come back. The pizzas are really interesting. The toppings are somewhat unique in Norway and some of the pizzas looked like artwork. They have a huge pizza stove and the pizza seems very authentic to Italy (except for the scissors to cut the pizzas) But sadly the flavor was mediocre. There were things that was good (especially the tiramisu), but so many things fell short. I definitely have had much more pleasant servers in Norway. Our server seemed to have a sour attitude and was not attentive. The worst part was all the tiny flies that kept lingering the tables. We had one land in our drink and counted at least 8 around our plate at one point.
