Knossos — Restaurant in Fredrikstad

Enjoyed a nice and tasty dinner at Knossos Greek Restaurant last weekend. For our Starter my husband and I shared the Saganaki Meli. A delicious addition to Saganaki by adding honey and sesame seeds. Then we shared the Stifado and the Moussaka as lour mains. The Stifado was really nicely done. Very tasty! The Moussaka although ok, seemed a little dry and lacking of Eggplant (Aubergine). It was just not as good as the Stifado. But in general everything was good. The Greek lady looking after us was friendly and had a nice personality. And it was nice that she advised us upon entering the restaurant that due to current COVID regulations there was no alcohol being served that night. It nice to be informed of your choice. It will be nice to return one day in the not-too-distant future to sample other dishes and enjoy some hearty...

Nice place. Friendly people. Good serving. Bad cooking. Overpriced. Really disappointed for ending my trip there! They dont serve the most famous Greek food, pita gyros! Ordered a mix grill that costs 850 kroner (yes, its 400 smt kroner per person).. Half of that was salad, two pieces of lamb was grilled, the rest was two cooked meat balls, two cooked sausages (it tasted bad so i asked the waiter whats inside those, he didnt know), two meat sticks (souvlaki) chicken and two meat sticks (souvlaki) beef that was probably cooked* because those came pretty much cold. THE only thing that i and my wife enjoyed from the mix grill*, was only those two nicely grilled pieces of lamb, the rest of that was below average quality! Honestly, i enjoyed more the tzatziki and the pita than the mixed grill!

Terrible service. If you’re out for an evening of being ignored by the server this is the place for you. I think other servers here were good but the one we had didn’t seem to like her job which made the experience bad. Going out eating at prime time means some delays and some wait, but the primary server we had made it a bad experience. I'd say our table was forgotten.

Edit: Food tasted good, authentic greek fresh taste. And the portions were really good. we had some starters that we both enjoyed. Delicate and good tzatziki with a pita to share on the side was also good. However; I had to send back the lamb chops TWICE because it was undercooked though.
