Vanias Kafé — Restaurant in Haugesund

Totally understand that employees don’t want to encourage freeloaders who wreck the facilities and don’t order anything, but there is a way to interact with paying customers without being downright rude. Really really unpleasant interaction here unfortunately :( Came inside with my family hoping to sit down and order some snacks and drinks after a long walk. Ordered and paid for a drink immediately before even going in to sit down as a show of good faith, and asked to quickly use the bathroom on the way to the outside seating area. The woman unlocking the bathroom immediately became very cagey and rude about only 1 person using the bathroom per purchase, and wouldn’t let up even to allow a young child (10 years old) to use the bathroom alongside me - despite the fact we openly said and signalled that we intended to stay and order more!! Just super rude and unfriendly unfortunately, we left and didn’t wish to ‘inconvenience’ the cafe by using their facilities (again, despite literally ordering and paying...

Vania’s café is a lovely little pearl of a corner café nestled in a cozy old house from the 1800’s in the middle of Haugesund. Vania herself is from Brazil, and puts a strong and beautiful vibe of the best from Brazil through her warm smile, easy attitude, and beautiful, sweet Brazilian and Norwegian cakes. This Cafe is absolutely incredible. First of all the owner is incredibly sweet and joyfull and very welcoming. Second of all the cakes are mind blowing !!! I had carrot cake which was the best carrot cake I ever had ! And a cookie to go which was delicious. I wish I could taste all the goodies there but we were there just for one day. And to top it off the Cafe and the restroom was impeccably clean. I loved every second of the time I spent there❤️keep up the good work...
